no nation is starving to death as a result of this grain deal ending - clearly there are starving people, but they were starving before and during any grain deal, and will continue to do so.

The reasons are I believe Ukraine is being used as a puppet by western interests to attack Russia, probably dismember it in fact, and also that justice emerges from an equlibrium of power between rival coalitions, rather one single hegemony.

Strangely enough, years back in the EU thread, I pointed out one of my concerns was the ever expanding EU, and I specifically mentioned that I thought Ukraine would be a flashpoint with Russia as a result. But that’s now history and Ukraine itself is pushing to join the EU and not the other way around. It’s not for Russia to determine who does or does not join the EU or even NATO and certainly not for them to invade, cause mass destruction and loss of life in a war that really wasn’t needed. Understanding what Russia went through in WW2 I can understand their wish for a buffer zone by way of defence. But NATO was no more likely to attack or invade Russia than India or China. Putin has now stupidly and expensively caused the very thing he didn’t want in my opinion…..

He’s a Politician and ex lawyer, he’s not a military man and has no real involvement in how the war is prosecuted……the proposed replacement, Rustem Umerov, is a Crimean Tartar but also a Politician and ex lawyer…..

I’m not having a go, if I were you would certainly know about it. I have some sympathy for the position Russia was finding itself in prior to their invasion and indeed also backed the fact the Crimea had been Russian for a long time, it’s all there in the threads. I would suggest that you don’t be too defensive, everyone has an opinion…..
