Back in the day, the Soviets used to be soooo good at this stuff, however now they're fumbling about like a bunch of clowns

Something very strange about this assassination story.
Firstly, no way would the US approve any kind of assassination attempt on Putin. It’s also unlikely Ukraine could or would attempt this without their moral and practical support.
Secondly, if it was drones, alarm bells should be ringing in the Kremlin that two drones were able to get so close to the Kremlin - seemingly without detection.
Is it a legitimate Ukrainian attack? Potentially. Could it also be disinformation and/or something Russia can use to condone the assassination of Zelensky? Also possible.

My dad spent the early part of the 80s in West Germany and always portrayed the Russians as boogeymen. They’re using kit that’s the same age as the stuff he used.Back in the day, the Soviets used to be soooo good at this stuff, however now they're fumbling about like a bunch of clowns
This is the one. Unless it's been launched from relatively close to the Kremlin (e.g. within or close to Moscow's defence zone), how has it got so close unnoticed? From what I've seen, only a flag-pole was damaged. No damage to the Kremlin building itself...
I've seen plenty of videos of drone use in Ukraine. Basic, simply drones are being accurately flown into moving vehicles, running soldiers, in to tight trenches etc... But, this drone weapon manages to miss a building as large as the Kremlin by a whisker?
And a small drone launched from Ukraine can't reach Moscow. This is a fake attack by Russian to further justify their war.

It appeared to possess neither pace nor stealth capability, so while it may have flown low (skimming below radar) the likelihood of getting so close is very low.
