Damned if you do, damned if you dont.
Their conscripts are being thrown into combat with little to no training, under little to no leadership (what they have is questionable) and with limited weaponry.

We're talking about combat more akin to WWI front assaults, but being dropped off by vehicles and sent into the meat grinder without air or artillery.

Wonder which systems we have he’s referring to here for long range ordinance?
‘Whereas the GMLRS fires six shots, and ATACMs fires one. Now the range of the ATACMS is longer, but there's other systems they can get you that range. There’s UAVs, for example, that could do it, and the Brits have a couple of systems.’

He’s talking about storm shadow. It has a range of about 350Km.

I see, I was thinking more land based systems like the ATACM or a UK equivalent of the GLSDB (SS is air launched right?)
Yeah it’s air launched - apparently the poles have found a way to integrate it onto the MIG-29. However I wouldn’t put it past the ukes to come up with a land launched version. They did the same with Brimstone and had it firing out of what looked like an old ice cream van.

🤣 think I saw that, I though the MoD had come up with the land launched system though.
Edit found tweet:

Don’t think land launched versions are especially unique so much as the improvised launcher is. MBDA have them mounted on a vehicle that looks like a Stryker chassis (sp?)

Yeah it’s now vehicle mounted on the Boxer, however I don’t believe the Ukes have boxer (yet). Think they’re still using the ice cream van.

There’s also the possibility that we may have supplied or about to supply GMLRS-ER munitions for the M270. These have a theoretical range of about 150Km.

And...

A little concerning that there's no armour over the skirts, but hey ho.
