I wonder how many are tourists that realize having a holiday on the edge of a warzone isn’t the smartest idea and how many are residents leaving.

Either way with this and the mobilization I think a lot of Russians are beginning to understand the pain of war isn’t all one way (although as you say still disproportionately felt by Ukraine citizens).

In a democracy that would put pressure on the leader but sadly Russia is a long way from that.
And how many think they are waiting to see The Queen

I think the first will probably be part of any deal.

I can’t see how the second can give Ukraine any assurances that Russia won’t try a third invasion in a couple of years to get the rest, especially as Ukraine would be significantly weakened economically be the 3rd condition.
The remainder of Ukraine would have to be granted immediate NATO accession. There's absolutely no other way to get that deal across the line if Ukraine is giving up that much dirt, IMO. If Putin wants that much at the conference table, he's going to have to cough up something big. Otherwise, the fighting continues. Ukraine had neutrality guaranteed by the UK, US and Russia, and look what that got them.

I really don't think it does signal weakness, and if it is a political stunt then its a very stupid one. You should always engage in talks when you are on the advance, the enemy is much more likely to listen to you than he is when he is advancing.
As long as you reasonably believe you will continue to advance, it's not time to sit down yet. This is why agreeing to talks while advancing signals weakness. Doing that says you have reason to believe you will stop rolling over the opponent on the battlefield at some point in the relatively near future.

But this really.

We do spend far too much time allowing the Russian troll bots to switch focus.

For my part I will try and refrain from it in future.

Slava Ukraini!
Fwiw mate I don’t even mind people having pro-Russian opinions, we have people like @bluestevon who live there and have families who are Russian etc and I quite enjoy reading his posts as it brings some balance to things. That being said, there are also some bad teds who chat utter wham and clearly have an agenda, these need punting to the moon.

A lot of the trouble indicated that most of the conscripts were not coming from Moscow and St Petes but from the poorer regions, Dagestan and the like. At least these lads weren't pensioners.
Each region, oblast etc was given a number they needed to provide, I'm guessing partly based on population in each place I'm guessing, small problem though with that is it's common to be registered not at the place you currently live fir whatever reason (few friends for example are registered in different oblasts or in Moscow itself).

can imagine it being part of the issue in these places and yeah Russia has always looked to recruit from the poorer regions (kinda most countries do tbf) so not hard to believe they'd also put a great % required from these areas too.

offer a guy from a village in the east 100k up front and a decent salary he's far more likely to think that's a deal he may take than a guy from Moscow who may already be earning way more than that.

Azov Brigade are heroes of this war.
Wow never pegged you as a supporter of Nazis mate, calling them heroes though, just go [Poor language removed] yourself, there's no walking that comment back later and you either seriously believe it which is sick, or your using it to wum which is arguably even worse

Again, for clarity.

Nazis = very bad people
Russian Orcs invading Ukraine = very bad people

Tbh I can’t see Ukraine giving up 2 of the 4 oblasts even with Nato accession unless things get a lot, lot worse.

Without NATO guarantee anything left of Ukraine after a deal is just a sitting duck waiting for Russia to reload.

I’ll happily discuss things with people I disagree with when I think they are arguing in good faith, indeed it is often how you learn and expand your thoughts. I’ve probably had lively arguments over one thing or another with most of the forum regular posters!

Trolls you are just feeding them what they want.

Considering we are told my GOT's military experts that the Russians have run out of weapons, who did the bombings the last few days?

Considering we are told by GOT's military experts that the Russian military couldn't punch its way out of a wet paper bag, how come they are retaking some areas now held by the Ukraines?
How do either of the above points absolve Putin of blame for the torture, rape and murder of thousands of civilians?

Oh yes, I remember - because you think the Ukrainian population deserves what's happening to them, because Putin told you so and unlike the Western media Putin ALWAYS tells the truth.

Amazing that petty point-scoring matters more to you, @davids and @bluestevon than the basic rights of non-combatants to be treated as non-combatants. But I suppose if simply being Ukrainian is a crime... well.

The hatred the three of you harbour for Ukrainians is as inexplicable as it is inexcusable. By all means criticise the West, but how on Earth you've convinced yourselves that Putin is doing nothing wrong and is above criticism just marks you as morally lacking.
