Let’s do that shall we?Again, let's revisit that post in four months time and I'll ask how you handled it mate.
Tough for some people, you mean like the elderly, the poor and the working class?

Are you seriously saying that Russian forces running away abandoning millions of $$ worth of equipment and vehicles & soldiers surrendering en-masse in the process is all part of some greater grand strategy by Russia? lol
If you're referring to this mate, Its not a round of mobilization cancelled, it's the annual draft for all 18yos to do military service that's been cancelled, and pretty sure it's because they've already been mobilised. So if Ukraine is experiencing such massive losses as you believe then why have they cancelled the next round of mobilization? Tells me they have enough troops to achieve the goals they’ve set themselves
And as for Russia buying time - why are they running away and abandoning all their equipment and ammunition? Surely they would conduct orderly tactical withdrawals covered by artillery and air support? Instead we are seeing Russian troops routing, leaving all their kit behind and running like frightened rabbits.
You sound a bit more manic than usual. You getting a call up soon Steveski lad?Fighting then pulling back before being overrun is a pretty obvious strategy they are using now yes, out of necessity, again yes, is it effective, time will show.
Surrendering on mass, hmmm, given the fact Ukraine seem to film absolutely everything they can for mass media effect, we've seen very very little if these hordes of Russians they're capturing mate, a lot of Ua press releases on it though, so must be true.
Did see one video they released which was a BMP crew surrender which was an absolutely laughably staged fake though, but gullible people will buy stuff like that.
Reportage on the amount of POWs on each side very lopsided in terms of Ukrainians captured, I'm wondering again, why is that? Why do Russia have so many more Ua POWs than Ukraine does Russians which is proving a huge complication on pow trades?
I don’t speak Ukrainian so can’t look at the original broadcast but appears the “premeptive strikes” comment may have been lost in translation
Zelenskyy spoke Thursday via video link to the Sydney-based Lowy Institute, saying through an interpreter that to deter the use of nuclear weapons by Russia, NATO and the international community must take “preventive strikes,” before the interpreter corrected themself to say “preventive action.”![]()
Ukraine says Zelenskyy’s ‘preventive strike’ call misinterpreted as Moscow fumes
Kyiv says president was referring to economic sanctions, while Russian officials accuse him of calling to ‘start a world war.’www.politico.eu
Ofc mate, outside of two cities the rest of Russia resembles a Third world country.True colours coming out at last.
Maybe you live near Moscow or St. Petersburg and the standard of living ain’t so bad, but we all know that the rest of Russia is pretty much third world. Gotta feel for those poor guys in those run down regions being thrown into the meat grinder. You know this is happening deep down.
I read that as he’s cancelled conscription and that those already mobilised will not be released. If you're referring to this mate, Its not a round of mobilization cancelled, it's the annual draft for all 18yos to do military service that's been cancelled, and pretty sure it's because they've already been mobilised.

Zelensky canceled the autumn draft for military service and postponed demobilization
President Volodymyr Zelensky canceled the fall conscription for military service in 2022. This is due to the state of war in the countrybabel.ua
Nope mate, with the level of recruitment they've already done the conscripts for this fall will have already been called up in huge parts - a lot into the territorial defense units for starters. No government doing that level of mobilization including preventing anyone under 60 leaving is not utilizing the age demographic that armies love to get hold of (18-21) .I read that as he’s cancelled conscription and that those already mobilised will not be released.
There’s nothing in there or any other article I’ve read that indicates people marked for the fall conscription have already been mobilised.
So the question still remains unanswered as to why he doesn’t require additional troops?
Not true. They had vast reserves and sanctions have not properly taken hold yet. Give it a few months and you will see who is winning economically. There is a reason they are not paying their conscriptsEconomically they are winning it, it's what happens when you base an entire strategy on sanctioning someone who understands the energy market better then you do, and the by proxy of fertilizer and grain.
Militarily I think Ukraine are taking land back at a absolutely huge cost in terms of men and equipment, losses that won't be sustainable for long. Meanwhile Russia is buying time to train and replenish supplies and hardware. Much like Ukraine did in march-july by forcing every inch to be fought over, again at a huge loss in personnel.
Do I think at a point Ukraine will lose all the territory and a lot more than what they're regaining, yup I do. Do I want that, no, I want the entire thing settled now through diplomacy (which obviously won't happen ofc)
Feel free to archive this post and quote it back to me in 4 months time
For this to be 'strategic' in any way, the retreat would be (as mentioned above) tactical, in that it would be done with cover and would not involve abandoning enormous amounts of important equipment. The word you are looking for is "Fleeing"Fighting then pulling back before being overrun is a pretty obvious strategy they are using now yes, out of necessity, again yes, is it effective, time will show.
