yes, because there is that other exit from the Sea of Azov that is nowhere near the Crimea

I'd call you an absolute weapon, but in weapon terms you are below even a Zip-22

Why do you insist on arguing when you know you’ve made a complete tit of yourself…..

To be fair Pete, the possession of Crimea does give a huge level of control of the Azov Sea; likewise, Turkey and Bosporus limit access to the Black Sea.

careful now, you run the risk of being called a tit - based only on reality, geography and being able to look at and understand what a picture shows

who has made a tit of themselves again? you've insisted that Crimea - which controls the one exit from that sea - is irrelevant to control of the Sea of Azov

in boob terms, you are the 44EE to my 32A in this respect

So does Turkey control the Black Sea ? I cba arguing with stupid tbh. Control of a Sea gives your Naval forces full license to do as they wish without fear for attack. The Sea of Azov has Ukraine on one side and Russia on the other. If Russia keeps the Donbas then the SoA is theirs. I’ve no idea why I’m trying to explain this to someone who didn’t even know where the SoA was before now……

Honestly pete there aren't enough hands in the world to facepalm this post enough.

In answer to what passes for your demented version of a question, yes - if you control the one exit from a sea, then you control everything that comes out of that sea. Turkiye really do have absolute control over the Black Sea in that respect, as the Russians have had to acknowledge. If Russia withdrew from every single bit of the Donbas, provided they retained control of the Kerch Strait they'd still exercise control over whatever left that sea.

I'd have thought that would be obvious from a map, but obviously not.

I see you’ve now been looking at a map, excellent. Now apply your brain to show how it exercises control, does Gibraltar have total control over the Mediterranean ?…

er - yes, it does

look at the bloody map

It does not ‘control the Mediterranean’ it could control access or egress if required, but look at the number of countries that back up to the Med, in the same way that Turkey controls access to the Black Sea or Crimea controls access to Azov. The Black Sea is surrounded by countries who do not do as either Turkeyor Russia determines, similarly with Ukraine on its West, Russia would not control Azov. That changes if Russia controls all surrounding land…

Indeed, it’s a bit like saying the U.K. should invade the ROI because of SF or the IRA, Putin wants land and an empire but unfortunately he has gone too far and it will be his undoing……

But Pete, nobody is saying that the arming of Nazis makes an invasion appropriate. In fact it will probably strengthen the Nazis position (much as Britains invasions of Ireland strengthened SF).
