2025/26 Tyler Dibling

….i reached quite senior levels in the Civil Service, not quite a Senior Civil Servant but close enough. Grade where operationally I’d manage maybe 200.

Why I laughed is your assumption that Moyes isn’t a manager who ‘puts his arm around players’. It’s just this Moyes is to blame excuse without any knowledge of what he’s like.

I specifically got into the home game v Palace very early, a game which Dibling started and what stood out to me was Moyes going out onto the pitch and taking Dibling to one side. Obviously not privy to what was said, but he spoke to him one-on-one for a good 2 or 3 minutes. Said lots to me about him investing time in the youngster.

It’s not a secret, I signed for the RS as a youngster and I honestly never spoke one-to-one with a coach for 3 years. Back then their Boot Room philosophy was only wanting footballers with right mentality, I certainly didn’t but I did understand their approach and it was ultra successful. I’d be sure Moyes is different.

More generally, we hear from players how much they enjoy working with Moyes. The thought that Everton are not carefully managing Dibling and acting in his best interest seems a bit daft to me but unless you’re involved none of us truly know.

All we needed here was your lack of mobile phone and you won your own bingo card

Word around has it that Moyes told him off for 2 minutes, telling him 1 wrong pass tonight and you're out of the team for 4 months and to be careful.

The remaining 1 minute was that he looks stupid with his socks like that.

Trust me, it's this.

While KDH didn’t play prem football until nearly 23 but is now one of our top players. It won’t take Dibling that long and we should be patient and support him
I honestly don’t think that’s holding them back.

Maybe in the immediate term. But if he learns how to work hard for the team, he’ll have a much better future because of it.

You think top managers like Pep wouldn’t drop a player in an instant if they weren’t working hard off the ball, or following instructions?
wasnt meant as a criticism of Moyes for not playing him, more an observation that he hasn’t yet adapted to what’s expected so he isn’t getting a run of games. He wasn’t asked to do that work at Southampton so needs to adjust. Will come good when he does.

Watching McNeil at the weekend though, he needs to start now

The kids hardly played any football but the experts think he’s garbage - sound, let’s keep playing Dwight mcslug instead……

Please, make it make sense.

Dibling should have been playing much more than he has, and that’s on the manager being a negative pragmatist first and foremost.

I’m sorry, he’s been managed appallingly, as have a few others.

“Hey teacher, leave them kids alone”

It’s not his fault we paid so much for potential.
If we paid 15 million for him no one would bat an eyelid.
He has some promise I think, keeps hold of the ball well. A bit of confidence and he will be smashing it.
Had a glorious chance of getting a goal against Leeds but was caught in two minds.
Once he gets a goal he will take off.
