2025/26 Tyler Dibling

This thread is ridiculous. The lad is 19. 19! He clearly has talent, and has hardly been used. All logic seems to fly out of the window, as he is expected to be some incredible player from the off.

By comparison for his position, Grealish was on loan in League 2 at the same age. Ndiaye had 1 start in 2 seasons for Sheffield United. Only now Barry looks to finally be coming good, but it took him many more games to get (relatively) up to speed. He has 4 years on Dibling.

This constant stream of criticism, does that help in any way? If your confidence is low, getting abuse or reading online that you are a disappointment is surely going to improve your form/development?
But just for balance, Armstrong is a similar age and has fitted in straight away. As I said in an earlier post Dibling had it all set up for him, lower league opposition, goal up and thirty minutes to impress and other than trap the ball and either pass back or sideways nothing. And other than working to track back and close down (not enough to please Moyes) more of the same.

The season isn’t over and we’re four points of a potential CL spot? I’m lost as to why you think that because we’ve bought Dibling we can’t make a European spot given our league position and the number of points left to play for?
Because of West Ham then Wolves and then Leeds.
If we can't take maximum points from the teams in the bottom six at home then we don't deserve to qualify. Saying that given the holes in the squad that might not be a bad thing.

Aston Villa away, United away (with 10 men).

The league is ultra competitive and teams are dropping points everywhere.

We obviously look through the lens of Everton and they are poor results but most fan bases seem to be saying the same thing.

Given the players we have coming back into the side, absolutely no reason why we can pick up form.

I'll keep everything crossed, but unless the owners can spend big in the Summer European football might be a step too far.

Can't see him doing any more than seeing out his contract. If Dibling can't get a start ahead of McNeil there may be other issues with him that we aren't seeing. The cryptic remark that Moyes made about him a few weeks ago doesn't fill me with confidence. 🤞🏻he can come good so at least we can recoup at least some of our outlay at the very least.
I think undoubtedly the thing that's holding Dibling back the most is his shyness. He strikes me as a player who needs the confidence of the manager to perform so he'll always struggle with Moyes handling of him. A different kind of manager I'd be confident we'll see why he's highly rated by people in the game.

We know Moyes will hold young players back if they aren’t delivering his off the ball requirement, so not too concerned that he’s had limited opportunities or barbed comments from him - all part of the process from Moyes.

Dibling will come good
I honestly don’t think that’s holding them back.

Maybe in the immediate term. But if he learns how to work hard for the team, he’ll have a much better future because of it.

You think top managers like Pep wouldn’t drop a player in an instant if they weren’t working hard off the ball, or following instructions?
