You can't stretch the value of a fee over more than 5 years regardless of the age of the player, so it doesn't really make any difference.

He looks different than he did with saints. Last season he was a bit of a maverick with the ball. Much more dribbling and driving things forward. Now he looks timid and a bit disconnected from the rest of the team. Not sure if it’s confidence or something else but he is not the same player at the moment.
He needs some under 21/23 games to boost his confidence ....

It doesn't change the fact that if a non Everton supporter watched replays of the games he's played and was asked to pick out the player who cost north of 30 million I'd wager he'd be one of the last picks.
