Transfer Window Assessment

I can't believe he's gone. I don't really know what to think. After last season, I really didn't want to part with him. Though Barry and Lukaku are good incomings, I still have a sense of sadness this morning. I hope we don't live to regret this decision. I'm really going to miss Victor Anichebe

Haha!

We're the only club in the league to not have a negative net spend, we won't see that money again and the club will still say our debts are rising. 3 of the squad are on loan, we sound like a debt ridden Spanish club. Our current business model cannot carry on the way it is, we will not progress without investment, the board have played a blinder for themselves spinning it and our fans have fell hook, line and sinker for it.
We're all gushing over how much we got for selling our best midfielder, we won't be seeing the benefit from it. That is the type of club this board have turned us into IMO.

To be honest, I'm not bothered about negative spends or anything. If I was, I'd be really into Dragons Den and buisness programmes. But I'm not, I rather like football, and I just wanna see Lukaku score a bagful. If he can score 17 for WBA, imagine what he can do with Pienaar providing crosses.

On the whole not a bad transfer window
IN : Robles, Alcarez, Mccarthy, Delefeou, Barry, Kone, Lukaku
OUT : Fellaini, Anichebe
positives : Baines stays. Made Utd pay a good fee for Fellaini. Lukaku.
negatives : really should have had another couple of players lined up to spend whatever money was left.

Glad its over and now its time for us to get behind the lads, the manager and get our first win asap and get our season under way. Minus Fellaini we have a solid squad who should be able to kick on now and give a good account of ourselves.

For the people who are complaining about the loan signings... you do realise that if we had a Lukaku type player last season, we would actually be playing champions league football this season! That would more than pay for loan fees and probably attract the Lukaku's of this world to join on a permanent basis.

Our wage bill must have went up a lot after this window.

Why?

We got rid of our highest earner, Neville who was on a crazy wage and Moyes who must have been on close to Felli's wage.

McCarthy can't be on close to Felli's wage, the likes of Robles and Alcaraz won't be on too much. Deulofeu and Lukaku are too young for huge wages and we'll be paying a fraction of Barry's wage.

Nine goals at least!

Well over 30 years -- yourself ?

As for the economic constraints of the club, 7 players have been brought in for ridiculous money of which only one will be in the first team in a season so the economic reality is that 32.5mil (a huge amount for Everton) has been squandered in entirety (that's right there wont be anything left over).

Kone 6.5mil but behind Jelavic and now certainly Lukaku He's played one full game, he'll be slowly worked into the team.
Barry 100k a week Of which were paying 50% at most of his wages. Excellent cover in midfield which we need.
Alcaraz a 6th centre back Hahaha he's injured you beaut. He'll get plenty of games this season.

Total waste of money on 3/7 players there which doesn't make any economic sense. In fact if YOU go over the numbers for everyone you can clearly see the cash has been frittered away.

Aye we have a negative spend which is weird considering the extra money coming in. But put the calculator away and see what they do in January.

McCarthy I pray comes good as he's currently the only one adding to the first eleven over more than this season.

F*cking hell lad, turn it in will you.

Its sound to be looking for the negative aspects but its how you go about them. You're just being an obtuse tit for attention on the internet so you'll rightfully get called on it. See the bits in red above for why.

So you saw the facts, realised your mistake and then resorted to calling me negative.

Yes I am negative as the facts don't lie.

No, you're just acting a bell lad.

While I'm sat by my swimming pool relaxing and following the daily successes I enjoy...

So what? Why come like that like a [Poor language removed]? I've been sat on a beach or pool reading this forum more than yourself I reckon but never mentioned it. Why would you? OH YOUR LIFE SO BOSS. Some lids are going through tough times on here, don't be a tit.

You need to have a wee break away and adjust how you come across on the internet as right now you're coming across as a Grade A whopper and that never goes down well on here. Thing is you're note a bad lid from what I can gather too, so do yourself a favour and take some time out.

Honestly believe this is a stronger squad than we have had for years, the people moaning about mcCarthy need to cop on we paid more for fellaini and he turned out well. Give the lad a chance ffs. competition for places all over the park. reallisticly couldnt have expected anything more.

Martinez probably hasn't been scouting much while at Wigan with the limited funds he had or has been scouting different quality players in his time at Wigan/Swansea. Therefore the players he spent scouting then obviously aren't good enough for Everton now.

He's had two months in his new job, and he's had to teach the squad his style, learn more about the people he's working with. It's not just the players but everyone at the club including the physios, the groundsmen etc. With the limited time he's had, he's really just gone for the quality wigan players to make sure the players he's got perform immediately for Everton. Sure most Everton fans probably expected more than 4 ex wigan players but he's brought in delofeu, lukaku and he's using barkley in the first team, so he's not afraid to give youth a go, which was what everyone was crying out about last year. And while we can't keep delofeu/lukaku, if we can show other clubs this is a great place to send youth, then we will continue to get regular youngsters.

Personally I thought Moyes really screwed us over - especially when he was told to keep his hands off our players and that none of them was for sale. For someone who supposedly holds himself with the highest integrity, it was particularly hypocritical. I thought maybe at one stage that he may not have been looking after the transfers, but the dithering at the end left me no doubt moyesie had a part to play in their utter embarrasment of a transfer window. And seriously apparently Ozil wanted to go to Man U and Man U weren't interested. Ridiculous.

Also I'd rather we had kept fellaini but the fella wanted to leave in the end, so taking the 28m is not a bad thing. Felli is difficult to replace and one of a kind with his height and technical skill. Probably overpaid for McCarthy though I don't know enough about him to say. For once though I would really like Everton to blow a ****load of money on a striker like hulk, aguero, falcao, not that they would come, soldado was only 25m (even if he's looked ****house so far) so to be honest not really that expensive in this day and age...

And finally ppl need to get a grip on the results, yes its been three draws, but liverpool have only scored 1 more goal than us in three games, and we conceded 2 more... man united haven't played well either.
