Most definitely ... win tonight and we're only 7 points off 4th with 45 points left to play for, that Is a lot of football, and we are playing or best football since koeman took over, look really good at the moment.

Win tonight and we're 8 points off 2nd with Bournemouth at home on the weekend.

I'm trying to not to get ahead of myself, though. It is us.

We'll probably win tonight and then lose to Bournemouth at home.

No. Highly unlikely. People have odd views about these gaps in the league tables. Closing a big gap is difficult enough but maintaining that form to keep above a team is very difficult. You often see gaps of 'only 6 points' reduce to 3 or even 0 only to go back out to 6 again for weeks on end.

As an example IF we win tonight we are 7 behind 4th. That is 3 wins that Liverpool (or City) are not getting. A win tonight would make it 4 wins a row for us. Let's say Liverpool do hit a bad patch and drop more points. We'd have to keep winning (on top of the 4 in a row we already have) just to close the gap, then keep winning just to maintain that advantage. Of course the wheels could fall off Liverpool but when was the last time we put 7,8,9 wins in a row together?

It's not impossible but it would take an incredible second half a season for us. 15 games, if we maintained top 4 form (2 points a game) we'd get 30 points. Are Liverpool (or City) going to post 22 over the same period? Highly unlikely.

This. It's like the stickers on car mirrors...gaps in tables are larger than they appear.

The chance is/was there...the lack of ambition showing in January by the board has put an end to any remote possibility of getting in the top 6. That's the reality unfortunately. However it doesn't stop us dreaming about it...
