If we beat Stoke tonight, were only 7 points off 4th and given the recent form of the sides ahead of us apart from Chelsea, is 4th place achievable as currently were the most inform team in the league.

Nah, we're too far adrift to overtake 3 of the current top 6 in 16 games. We could catch one of them if they hit the rocks though (hopefully the RS)

If we can win tonight, the onward effect on our confidence will give us a good chance. We need to win the next few up to Spurs to give ourselves a realistic chance, we all know our track record in that regard, let's hope times are a changing.

Top 6 is in free fall - they haven't strengthened. Second half of the season syndrome everyone has sussed them out.
It's on.

Not in my opinion. I'm quite positive normally but I think our bad run in the autumn has left us with too much of a mountain to climb and I also believe we needed to buy a playmaker during the last transfer window to help us break down teams who park the bus. That could be our achilles heel.

We've got a relatively benign run of fixture between here and the end of March, with only Spurs as a fixture to worry us. In the same time, Man Utd have some hard league games, plus 3 cup competitions to occupy themselves with.

We could go to Anfield and Old Trafford at the start of April in a decent position. Got to take each game at a time though, as Everton have a long track record in recent years of getting into positions of promise and choking when the pressure is on. At the moment, pressure is largely off and we're playing well. When the pressure/expectations are on, it may be different. Lets see.
Bruce. Please don't get into that bad habit of counting chickens. You know what always happens when we do that.:(

And I am formally asking you now to ban anybody who starts another next 6 games thread ffs.

I know it's the age old cliché, but for once let's just take one game at a time and see where that takes us. If we are in good position come end of March, then let's start talking then. We've got a devilishly difficult April.

This Stoke match is very important now, if we win we close the gap on the teams above us, but because all the results went for us yesterday and suddenly we all have a bit of hope of catching the above teams it would be typical Everton to get beat tonight.

"And it's there! Stoke City take the lead in the dying seconds! A thunderous drive from Arnautovic that takes a wicked deflection off KingDuncanFergusons Thread and nestles into the bottom corner!"

nearly but not quite.

I'd settle for 5th, 72pts or not - I'd settle for 60+Pts and see where we end up...if we can catch one club

Not withstanding the 'One game at a time' rule
we could pinch 5th...just...with the wind behind us.

4th? nah - not this year sadly.
would be good though
