….posters just want good footballers to improve the first team. None of us know if any of the current crop of youngsters are good enough to make the giant leap, the chances of even one of them doing so is slim but we hope especially because the first team is so poor.

Fans won’t ‘ruin’ a youngster, they fail it’ll be because they aren’t good enough. Very few who fail to make the grade here succeed elsewhere, maybe Antonee Robinson in recent times slipped through our net. If a youngster is good enough they’ll get an opportunity.

The friend I've mentioned before, who works as a youth coach at Finch Farm, said a while ago that this lad is the academy's big hope for the next few years.

There's always a chance that a late bloomer could emerge, but Cannon is apparently the one outstanding prospect at the moment.

Was Stanley Mills linked with Bayern not that long ago? Or did I imagine that

I think it's the best possible time to blood him. We are so toothless and lost upfront that it is unlikely that Cannon will be any worse than Maupay, Gray or Rondon up there. Give him some time on the pitch over the next 3 games, if he looks like he is coping with the pace of the league, then, keep him in or around the match day squad for the rest of the season. If, however, he looks out of his depth, there would still be time to get him a loan to a lower league team.
That makes sense to me,he is on a three year contract I believe so no harm in keeping him for the rest of the season, unless a striker is bought in January, then allow him to go on loan, there are two or three clubs looking to take him on loan in this window,if he ultimately fails at premier league level he could still prove to be a financial asset to Everton in the lower leagues.

He has an eye for a goal and also the fundamentals of being that number nine working hard, working the channels, stretching the oppositions back four, I am not convinced Maupay is that kind of player, he strikes me as more of a Naismith type who floats around a target man. This kid may get a start or two if DCL isn't fit also maybe off the bench.

Hes really come on well. Makes good runs and is a good finisher.

I was impressed with I'm against Bournemouth, he looked quick, alert and like he could handle himself in the mens game.

I have to say, I like Orokonko (sp) even more.

All very true.

I see this a lot about young Gordon, the reality is if he cant handle criticism or expectation he wouldnt make it anyway.

Robinson has done very well, but hes had maybe 1 good season in the PL at the age of 25? He looks a very decent player, but I dont think hes an enormous miss. He also needed game time, which with Baines then Digne in front of him was always unlikely. Sometimes there has to be a bit of good fortune involved.

Who can solve our goals crisis Bobby?
