I'd be surprised if it was a permanent transfer as we weren't willing to pay the fee required for Simms, and it seems you lot rate Cannon higher than him therefore would probably cost more than the former.

Loan likely if anything. The lad our end is usually good with info. Guess we will see.

Don't understand why anything would happen with him now.

If you look at the final day of the season Gray started at CF and Simms came on as the late sub. One has already left and seemingly the Saudi bid is very tempting for club and player so I think once Gray has had a holiday he'll be off probably before start of the season.

So as far as I can see Cannon is currently backup to DCL and we know he'll be playing a fair bit given how the last two seasons have gone.

Personally I liked what I saw from him at Preston, he can certainly finish so he should be given some minutes in early prem games and then assess things again end of August.

Rocking up to Goodison on opening day and seeing Maupay starting again v Fulham and doing impression of a training cone isn't going to get many people onside for the new season.
