The biggest reason for me to get him in the first team now is confidence. It’s such a big thing in players and he will be flying at the minute as he’s on a good run. There’s not one good reason he shouldn’t be given minutes in the upcoming games. You never know with young players if they’ll sink or swim until you put them in and see what they can do.

I think it's the best possible time to blood him. We are so toothless and lost upfront that it is unlikely that Cannon will be any worse than Maupay, Gray or Rondon up there. Give him some time on the pitch over the next 3 games, if he looks like he is coping with the pace of the league, then, keep him in or around the match day squad for the rest of the season. If, however, he looks out of his depth, there would still be time to get him a loan to a lower league team.

There is no guarantee that wherever he goes he is going to play every week though, we have seen this before with Gordon. Would rather he stayed here getting 15-20mins at the end of some games and we can control/monitor his development better.
