"Please Leighton... just stay a little while longer... I'm not fin.... I'm not...ah wait no, finished, where are those Flash wipes again..."

I don't even need to say anything in response mate. This is allll you lollollollollollollollol

well you certainly did imply it, you not only think a team can be successful with a keeper as a weak link, you think the prem's greatest ever team (I guarantee no one will agree with you on that by the way) played with a dreadful keeper, Germany's number one no less, to be fair it's the natural step for your losing Howard argument, your allies are diminishing, just a few american skirmishers left to fire off pot shots at the massed ranks of the howard out army, but keep telling yourself everyone is used to me being wrong, your entire GOT career is built on being wrong

It's an opinion-based forum?

Surely you don't see GOT as some sort of profession? That's odd.

Anyway Lehmann wasn't Germans number one when they were going throw a low period it was Khan and Lehmann was always his number two until he retired.

If this wasn't the Tim Howard thread I'd love to know who you thought the best team this leagues produced was, I'm guessing you'll side with Eric and plump for Utd.
oooh you are having just a real bad time of it, Lehmann was germany's number one in their home world cup, with Khan as number 2, far from retired I'm afraid. Personally I preferred the arsenal team that won the title in with Viera and Petit, better defense and an excellent goalkeeper, which as we know is vital, the utd 99 team was stronger too, they really made the goalkeeping department a priority

Now you best roll out Douglas, these howard corners ain't for you no more, head on back to the galloway thread, you come back here it's step up or step off, i'll bid you good evening

So basically one guys saying people never rated howard as hes a yank...youre saying its because hes ex utd

Examples of players youve given are a but odd as well...cant people just not rate him?

Of course they can 'just rate him', but any ex Man Utd player playing for Everton has a disadvantage with lots of Evertonians before he kicks a ball in anger. Why are my examples 'a bit odd'? All I've done is 'rate them' which is what youre suggesting.

Yes, I am saying that. Those players were all there the previous season yet Arsenal still lost out on the title due to Seaman being pretty much useless, making a series of costly errors. Lehmann comes in and then by some mad coincidence, they go unbeaten.

I think you're of the opinion that goalkeeper isn't an important position, aren't you? If so then I have no idea why anyone would take your opinions seriously on the subject.

If he was so special Mike how come in a season they went unbeaten and turned a few teams over by 4/5/6 goals a game he still conceded 27 goals.

Bearing in mind Howard's lowest goals conceded in a season for Everton is only 6 more, and that's in a team that was no way near as dominant like Arsenal and he's a goalkeeper you seemingly never rated?

Where have I said I NEVER rated Howard? He's been diabolically bad for the best part of 4 years, yes, but at his peak he was a decent, solid keeper for us. Helped by a well marshaled defence including a primed Jagielka, Lescott and Baines. As for the Lehmann thing, really? I give up, I honestly despair. Did you watch Arsenal that season? Or football at all?

What a Gent!

Which goalkeepers are you talking about here?

Jens Lehmann a weak link...give your head a wobble.

Actually you said no successful team will ever have their goalkeeper as its weakest link, so I suggested that probably the best team this leagues ever seen did and so did the last Liverpool team to win the league.

Again you've excelled in being incorrect by saying I don't think goalkeepers aren't important as I've never said that, thought it or even implied it.
