2025/26 Thierno Barry

What's he supposed to do, not say anything about it.
Actually, yeah.

He’s a professional footballer for Everton FC. He should have notified the club and let an investigation take place - especially if his friends were attacked without reason.

Instead, he ran to social media and brought the whole clubs name into disrepute for the actions of a minority.

Without Barry going to socials it’s unlikely the majority of us would have even known about this. The club could have identified supporters involved and sorted it.

Instead he’s created a Barry v the fans issue.

Yep, he should have kept his trap shut.

I hope the club throw the book at him.

Baffling thing to me is that players get to hand out multiple tickets to their mates for an away game… can understand 1 or 2 for close family… but mates…? I just see that as disrespectful
Went to Euro 2004 in Portugal (having been to the final in Rotterdam 4 years earlier just cos I wanted to go to the stadium where we won the CWC). Got tickets through the ballot for 2 quarters which meant if England got through, I'd see them. Lose. On Pens. And see Rooney's last kick as a Blue.... More of that later GOT chums....

Anyway we got there a few days early, to see if we could pick up any tickets for Group games. Stopped on the street, a bloke told us to meet him the next day, in a car park. He had 2 tickets, €150 each. Thought it sounded a bit dodge, but went with my mate, and we got there and there was just him, and 2 of us. Expecting him to lead us round a corner into 12 of his mates, he led us round the corner to produce - 2 x VIP tickets. Face value €100 each. This was when the ticket buyers name was on the tickets. It was Ricardo Pereira - the Portugal 'keeper. He'd basically given them to his mates to sell, to earn a bit of cash.

We sat in a boss spec, right on the halfway line - surrounded by a who's who from European football (most of whom I didn't recognise and had to have pointed out to me). David Platt was a couple of seats down from us. Great game. Czech Republic beat Germany 2-1 to put them out at the Group Stage.

Happy with that. Few days later of course, we were right up on the back row as Ricardo Pereira took off his gloves to save Darius Vassell's penalty bare handed, before scoring the winning pen himself.

We did have the last laugh though.... All the bar owners in Lisbon were in tears. Cos England were going home, dashing their early retirement dreams.

I'm not going to comment on giving his Arsenal supporting mates tickets in our end - sounds braindead but that's footballers for you

What I will say is that he looks less impressive as a footballer with every game that he plays.

He looks totally disinterested in any build up play or defending.

I don't think the lad has a future at Everton and I'd look to move him in in the summer.

I cant imagine Moyes sells Barry & Beto in the summer.

Hes too conservative.

100% this.

What does anybody, including Barry himself, gain from making this a social media issue? Something happens, and the first thing he does is take to Instagram. That's utterly stupid. But footballers, generally, are stupid. Their agents should have a duty of care to keep them off social media.

That is one of the big issues starting to emerge with Barry. The moment he is unhappy with something its straight to social media. I know he might be annoyed/upset etc, but it benefits absolutely nobody (especially himself) to do stuff like this. No matter what happens with the investigation now he has set himself back significantly with the fans.

Great story

I'm sure you're right but our attack is pathetic and we need to do something radical

What would you say "radical" looks like to Moyes?

To me, radical would mean selling both & signing one clear starter e.g Thiago and one wunderkind e.g Kroupi.

Thats radical.

For Moyes, radical is selling Beto for £15mil and signing someone like Delap for £30mil so Chelsea get their money back for a flop.
