2025/26 Thierno Barry

Was he really? Thought it was more him saying Lukaku was his idol
He did my head in missing sitters last night so I’m probably being a bit unfair. I do recall him acting quite cocky after he scored them few goals though and i remember thinking at the time it was probably going to bite him up the ass because he has still has a long way to go.

Here’s a thought lads:

We could try supporting our players.
Agreed
You can see heads drop with the grumblings. And no, not blaming the fans, but a bit of reflection never hurt anyone.

Some get unfairly targeted too
It was poor by Barry, maybe even had more time than he thought to control and dink like he did at Villa but he fluffed his lines.
Fact is he was there, reacted faster than anyone and made the chance by doing so.

Ndiaye save onto post first half could've been aimed higher imo but we love Ndiaye and he gets a pass for it.

I've seen Haaland miss chances like Barry's last night. It happens

Not consistently though TP.

Twice during the match I uttered a swear beginning with f. Barry was the cause of both.
If People are saying we have low expectations because of a manager.

Than saying both those chance's shouldn't have hit the back of the net, are lowering expectations of a premier league striker.

Let's not kid ourselves here. He missed twice and the faithful are annoyed, quite rightly imo, but it isn't just his finishing is it ?, there was absolutely nothing about his performance last night that could give you any hope. He can't hold up the ball, head the ball, and mostly, anything over a 5 yard pass is going to be unlikely or lucky.
He isn't good enough week in week out. I've read he doesn't get good service but when it comes to him ,chances are he will lose it, miscontrol it,or simply fall over it.
I suspect he wouldn't cut it in the championship or division one for that matter.
I hate running our players down,I really do. Feel guilty actually, but there is no hope imo of this lad ever being good enough at this level. I hope in 18 months time I get vaulted , and will be happy to be made a fool of.

I was right behind the goal mate their keeper made a great save and still had to be aided by a post. The shot was taken from a very acute position, unlike Barry's who I thought had to score one of those chances, I said at the time the one thing is at least Barry is getting in position to miss those opportunities, when he first came here he wasn't.

Thats exactly it. Its not just the finishing. Its how Everton want to set up as a team and he's as opposite as i would like Everton to be. I watched brentford last week at newcastle and Thiago and Quatarra pulled newcastle apart with the way they travelled quickly with the ball and their movement.
Barry and beto are not the answer. Not even close to being it if the club wants to develop from being a team that just digs out results.
I wouldnt have even played him last night. Id have put ndiaye central and played Alcaraz or Rohl in a 4-5-1.
Stop buying forwards that cant effing play.
