2025/26 Thierno Barry

We have no idea how to buy strikers at all. Other teams, with small fanbases, poxy stadiums buy unheard of players with no PL experience, lob them straight into the team because they have good technique and are fast and athletic and massively driven, and they go on mad scoring runs, then settle to being good 1 in 3 strikers.

We buy strikers that look like they are about to fall over when have the ball, or are the slowest person on the pitch with really weird bald patch covering hair spray. Don’t get it. No matter how many goals a player is scoring in some weird league, just watch them run with a ball. If they look like they have their shoelaces tied together, stop buying them. Even if they are nice and smiley.

This league is nowhere near as packed with quality as the advertisers like to say. But it can be fast, and it’s definitely physical. If you can’t control a ball instantly and dribble in a straight line without looking a bit drunk and running past the ball, you have no chance.

The fella is a damn embarrassment. If those chances had fallen to Keane, it would have been two goals probably 75% of the time. I'd have scored the first one with my eyes closed. This isn't him being slated on the back of missing two gilt-edged chances, it's a a full season of diabolical efforts with a disgraceful goals-to-shots ratio. The guy's body language on and off the field is shameful, and we're saddled with him now for another three years barring some kind of miracle. I think he'll be in the Turkish league next year, wages paid mostly by FC Everton, and nobody who was involved in his transfer held to account.

Can copy and paste this into the Beto thread.

60 million pounds for arguably the two worst strikers the league has seen since... we last spend 30m on a striker (Tosun).
