Most signings under Moyes first time round came with a great attitude/mentality and you can see that fighting positive mentality has improved massively in the squad the year since Moyes came in

It really makes the Barry and Dibling signings all the more baffling, I just don’t get how anyone thought these were good ideas not just after watching videos but after meeting them and presumably having some kind of interview/conversation

I've said a lot of positive stuff about Barry on here, but I'm still in disbelief about how bad he was last night.

The chances he missed were bad enough, but his overall play was dreadful too. Couldn't believe what I was seeing.

Nothing against this lad but i'd love to throttle whoever recruited him. You look at bournemouth and how they recruit and they wouldnt bring a player in like Barry. They go for slick passers and runners who move quickly with the ball. We've this awkward bean pole striker who is neither. His finishing is ok ish but he doesnt look suited to this league and im not sure a full season will change that.
I cant get my head around someone from this club looked at him and went yep. Lets get him in the prem. I honestly look around at a few clubs who i think recruit well and they wouldnt ever bring this type of forward in.
Got Everton written all over it.

No probably about it, if he scores even one of them goals it’s changes the game completely.

Just can’t depend on him to score! Which says it all really.

The 2 missed chances were bad enough, but when the ball did get played into him, he couldn't trap it and we instantly lose it.

He has had the arm around him, fan support and the pity. Maybe now he needs a massive kick up the arse. I couldn't care less for the 'oh woe, me' act last night on the bench. Start grafting a little bit, would be nice to see.

There's the sunk cost fallacy with Barry. Too many people are invested in him to cut their losses. I'll be delighted if he proves me wrong, but his goal flurry recently looks very much like a purple patch and we are back in zero goals from 16 matches territory again...
