Looks class here when he’s got no pressure on him and is able to goal hang.

Maybe needs to work on his tap ins from 1m out rather than the free shots on goal from 12+ yards.

The only one I'll defend him for, think it was his third? when he got into a good space and nice connection but the defender flew out of nowhere to block it. Not sure what more Barry could have done with that one.

Agree with that. Looked devastated after being taken off. Unfortunately he now has nearly two weeks to mull it over before the next game. I would be surprised if he starts against Man U

Could not believe how bad that was, he is just not very good at all.

If that is the case then why? We knew DCL was leaving and there was no other player to step up.
So far, it is suggested that we enquired about established strikers but were turned down.

Friedkin group have allegedly laid out a strategy for younger signings to develop and sell on. In my view they failed to recognise the parlous state of the squad and need for more experience.

I think it was because Beto was supposed to be first choice after his good run at the end of last season. Don't think anyone would have known how rubbish he'd become this season.

I thought that one he should have been attacking the ball when he seemed to just wait for it to arrive at him. He was never going to have all that time on the edge of the 6 yard box (if thats the one you mean).
Probably overly harsh but it just looked like a chance a top striker would have attacked & buried rather than continue the square run.

Just don’t buy this tbh. Moyes has never rated Beto - and Beto is exactly the same player as last year. He’d have scored the same number of goals if he started every week, but we definitely tried to sign an upgrade.

What was sad when Barry was subbed the TV cameras went to him on a number of occasions with his shirt pulled up motionless over his head - for quite a while no player or coach to console him - He knew he had let us down & cost us the game with his 2 misses - he should have been subbed at half time with that first miss - the ball needed killing dead & then poked in - he will never make the grade IMO ...
