2025/26 Thierno Barry

What he needs to do is stop getting too cocky after he has scored a few goals. He was comparing himself to Lukaku and all kinds after a few goals. He has potential but is a long way from being prolific and consistent. Still young and learning so be confident sure but recognise that you still have a way to go and with time will improve.

Just don’t buy this tbh. Moyes has never rated Beto - and Beto is exactly the same player as last year. He’d have scored the same number of goals if he started every week, but we definitely tried to sign an upgrade.
Upgrade? Barry was signed because he had a similar profile to Beto mate, Charlie Adam and Alan Irvine both watched him.

It's like the flip of a coin with who to start at the moment. Barry in particular and Beto, have both had ample opportunity. If Beto started more of the games that Barry had, I'm sure he'll have had a couple of goals more at least too.

I'd say Beto puts himself about more but both neither do enough.

Anyone complaining about 'body language' needs to give their head a wobble.

He went off and looked genuinely absolutely gutted that he hadn't been able to win us the game. What exactly is the issue with that?

Some seriously embarrassing stuff in here since last night, in a thread for a player who has made good progress this season. Some of you need a bit more awareness how stupid you come across taking such petulant views as fully grown adults.

Absolute BS.

He strikes me as a humble character. He looked devastated last night.

Was he really? Thought it was more him saying Lukaku was his idol

I think Moyes would definitely get rid of both strikers without hesitation if he could at the end of the season. Who recommended these guys for the Premier League shouldn't be in Football, although our lack of attraction for players to come here after the last few years will have played a part in suitable available options.

I'd expect most decent strikers in the championship would react quicker to score the 6 yard tap in, and also get the left footed chance on target at least.

I wouldn't be surprised if Vipotnik at Swansea moves to a Prem side in the Summer, and he'll be head and shoulders above both our current 'strikers'.

Is it true that this guy had a trial at Hamilton who are in the second tier of Scottish football and got released after being deemed not good enough?

"He had flown to the Tanzanian archipelago during the winter break of his debut season at FC Basel, seeking to clear his head after the latest bump in a journey that already included rejection after a trial at the Scottish side Hamilton Academical."

“I had played in Belgium [with Beveren] and scored 20 goals, 20 easy goals, and then I went to Basel and I thought it would be easy to score there too,” Barry says. “I found it was not. With the pressure and everything I lost my confidence. I lost the love to play football. I lost everything.

“My coach told me to go on holiday, put my phone off and enjoy life. I went to Zanzibar with my girlfriend and I saw some kids playing on the beach."
