2025/26 Thierno Barry

Agreed
You can see heads drop with the grumblings. And no, not blaming the fans, but a bit of reflection never hurt anyone.

Some get unfairly targeted too
It was poor by Barry, maybe even had more time than he thought to control and dink like he did at Villa but he fluffed his lines.
Fact is he was there, reacted faster than anyone and made the chance by doing so.

Ndiaye save onto post first half could've been aimed higher imo but we love Ndiaye and he gets a pass for it.

I've seen Haaland miss chances like Barry's last night. It happens
It was very audible last night, he defo wold have been aware. However, he had a shocker!

1) Ndiaye ’gets a pass’ for that one because he got a clear shot away on target. He will also outscore Barry this season from midfield.
2) Haaland has played 25 and scored 21 this season.

I’ll be honest, I’m pretty dumbfounded either of them are getting mentioned in the same breath, never mind post as Barry.

I've gotta say, I enjoyed that bit where he was on the halfway line and instead of trying to trap the ball and hold it up, tried to back heel it even though there was no one there to back heel it to. He missed the back heel like, but the mental gymnastics that must have been going on in his head to think "that's a good idea" must have been a tremendous thought.

I don’t think Barry is great but it’s not like he hasn’t been scoring for us. He’s had a bad night but I really felt for him as there was a shot of him in the dugout after he came off, head in his hands.

He’s a person with feelings, good or bad he’s Everton and we should be looking after and supporting these guys.
A shot, most of the second half was watching him sulking

"He had flown to the Tanzanian archipelago during the winter break of his debut season at FC Basel, seeking to clear his head after the latest bump in a journey that already included rejection after a trial at the Scottish side Hamilton Academical."

“I had played in Belgium [with Beveren] and scored 20 goals, 20 easy goals, and then I went to Basel and I thought it would be easy to score there too,” Barry says. “I found it was not. With the pressure and everything I lost my confidence. I lost the love to play football. I lost everything.

“My coach told me to go on holiday, put my phone off and enjoy life. I went to Zanzibar with my girlfriend and I saw some kids playing on the beach so I joined in and fluffed a few sitters against them also. Their goalkeeper was 8 years old.."

You are talking about over the season results, I'm talking about an isolated incident. Haaland is obviously better, which is why I used him as an example. Ndiaye is loved, rightly so, which is why I used him. I doubt he'd outscore him without penalties tbh so his position isn't relevant there

Might be been trying a Bergkamp flick and turn

I need looking after and support! The £45,000 a week would be nice also! 😄
