2025/26 Thierno Barry

I've gotta say, I enjoyed that bit where he was on the halfway line and instead of trying to trap the ball and hold it up, tried to back heel it even though there was no one there to back heel it to. He missed the back heel like, but the mental gymnastics that must have been going on in his head to think "that's a good idea" must have been a tremendous thought.

Yep. If ever there was a player that absolutely 100% needs to knock off the little flicks (and he does a few), and just purely concentrate on doing the simple things - it’s this lad.

Barry might need work, to improve him. There's no point abusing him. It's not his fault he's not quite the finished article he's young and a potential prospect. The club put so much weight on his shoulders though. Not fair on him. He's been given a tough ask leading the line for Everton when we really need more experienced strikers who regularly score.

What's one of them, you may ask.

Still waiting on Lukaku's replacement.

The club and Moyes should be working flat out to make at least one experienced striker a signing in the summer nevermind a target.

Clocked that myself, wasn’t entirely clear quite what he was attempting tbf….
Nice bit of skill from Barry there, a sublime nutmeg / ½ Cruyff turn to completely bamboozle himself and miss control the ball.

Although Yesterday's performance was underwhelming, I don't perceive his actions on the bench as sulking but rather him be crestfallen as wasn't able to deliver. I know he still has some rough spots but the way some of you miserable sourpusses just bombard with this thread with hyperbolic vitriol , it just feels silly and unnecessary. Good God it's a game of footy some of you talk like he desecrated a grave

First thing he needs to improve is his match day focus and his attitude.

He visibly gives up on the pitch. Let's misses get to him.

He was very poor last night. I felt sorry for the lad, he was absolutely distraught after he was taken off, I think he's out of his depth here. There may well be a player in there, but, for his own sake, he needs to be taken out of the starting line up. I'd try either George or Ndiaye at centre forward for a few games.

I've seen a few of these shouts and even a few Michael Keane pleas for good measure. That's ok, so long as you have never uttered the phrase 'square pegs in round holes'
