2025/26 Thierno Barry

The difficulty with him is that he needs game time to get better. It will do no good for his development being second choice despite us needing a better striker now if we want more consistent results with him. Did well yesterday for the goal and I'd persevere with him as our first choice until the summer when we can re-evaluate if we need someone better to be our main guy or if he's improved enough to keep going. We need better competition for him than Beto but it's up to him to the end of the season if that competition comes from the bench or if he's the one fighting from the bench.

One of a few players that are (fingers crossed) slowly coming good.

I say slowly - 3 in 4 PL games isn't that now?

Hopeful my 7 rating for the summer transfer window will start looking more defensible as we go on

10th place, 4 points off 4th, with Ndiaye, Gana back from Afcon and Tim, Alcaraz, KDH and Branthwaite all on their way back to full fitness.

Surely Europe is a possibility?

I'll give him this: he's shown great mental strength for a young kid who's had a horror show start to his PL career.

I do admire him for that. Hopefully the goals in the last few games is giving him a boost. It'll be interesting to see if we ever get attacking FBs into this club again what he could do.

Maybe we've rushed to judgment on him - myself included.

He'd have snatched at that a month or so ago.

The recent goals bring confidence/composure.
100% right about that, he doesn't even get on the end of it a month ago. It really was a superb finish, as good a finish as we've seen from any of our strikers in the last 30 years.

I'm still not convinced by him, but at least Moyes has said hes a work in progress and that there was some thought behind the signing.

Wish we had someone better than Beto to bring on/rotate with just to ease that pressure on him. Moyes can keep repeating all he wants that 27m isn't much for a striker, but when you've been starved of signings like we have the past 7 seasons, a 27m signing feels like a 70m signing and we need them to make instant impacts.

Great finish. A player with no confidence simply tries to smash that through the keeper. Kept his head with Martinez throwing himself at the ball.

Shows that he is maybe starting to believe himself.
I think it's more a case of starting to feel that the manager and fans believe in him. Self-confidence isn't one of his weaknesses at all.
