He described himself as fast which a few raised their eyebrows at but today when he was pressing the keeper you saw some real pace. He’s looking fitter too which is good to see.

It's a weird combo of being immensely strong in the air and a surprisingly lightweight on the ground.
He needs to go up a few shoe sizes.

He actually keeps possession far better than Beto who is far bulkier though, with back to a player, I'd trust Barry to hold a player off or one touch lay off, far more than I do Beto. I think Barry could do with using his body a bit better whilst running with the ball though, I agree
Probably one of my biggest grievances with Beto is that he looks strong as shii but can't shield a player from tackling to save his life
Great finish. A player with no confidence simply tries to smash that through the keeper. Kept his head with Martinez throwing himself at the ball.

Yes I noticed that, think I mentioned it in the match thread, there was one closing the keeper down moment when he's shown more pace and appeared faster than I've seen before. His ariel duels getting better too, one in the first half when he arrowed a header out to the left wing, the finish - say no more, that's a couple of quality finishes we have seen now.
He'd have snatched at that a month or so ago.

Said this a few times, but the thing I really like about Barry is that the progress in him is visible. It's very slow, but there are little improvements almost constantly.
That isn't to say we shouldn't sign another striker, I can't deal with the chest pains that Beto induces at times, but I think Barry may be one of the cleverest signings we've made in some time - a proper project, but I can see why the scouts liked him.
