2025/26 Thierno Barry

I don’t people are writing him off.
Get Barry off. It’s like playing with 10

Barry is by far not the worst Everton player on the pitch today.
I think that speaks volumes of where we’re at today.

Beto’s just as bad.

Both Beto and Barry need to be binned off asap

Beto and Barry

The chuckle brothers.
Get shut asap.

I like him. Much better when he gets the ball out of his feet and can run at defenders, but he's good in the air and his link up play is decent.

He needs to work on holding up the ball and his decision making, but he looks determined and looks to be improving week by week.

We need someone else though to give him some competition, because Beto looks lost.

Wonder how many "he actually played well today" and "he actually took that goal quite well" games he needs before it's accepted he's actually developing into a good player who is capable of scoring us goals when chances are presented.

He’s not there yet, but I’m sure some will never accept that even if he does get there.

He has his strengths and his weaknesses for me. He is clearly a bit lightweight which is understandable in your first year in the most physical league. I think he is good with the ball at his feet but is prone to panic when closed down. He is not really a back to the goal striker at this point in time. As a goalscorer, he has been thrown under the bus by our playstyle. I would like to see him develop into a neat striker that can handle the pressure and tight defenses. Not there yet

Gyokeres was the most sought-after CF in Europe. Arsenal spent a fortune on him and so far all he's managed is 5 PL goals, with a couple of those being pens. If you can finish on double-figures for the season then that should be viewed as a good total for any striker these days.
Can you imagine if Everton signed him for that fee and got that return...

Completely agree. This thread is a great read on partially why that is:

Couple that with the out-of-possession work that strikers are expected to do these days, and how gruelling that is, it's never been harder to be a top level striker. Hankering after a genuine consistent 15 league goal per season striker is honestly asking a LOT compared to 10 years ago.
