Good post, aimed at an undeserving poster. Been some great posts aimed at him in recent days in here, but sadly it’s a waste of time.

I'll confess I've not really followed this thread a great deal, other than 1 comment on the environment that caught my eye.

But in terms of the woke, as I understand it, they are people who understand situations and phraseology better than the average person. Despite their youth and inexperience they have a better understanding and sensitivity of the world than anybody else and they just love letting everybody else know about it. I'm thinking of people like @Bishop Thumpety-Thump, who has elsewhere capitulated in reading and replying un the face of my reasoning, a person who clearly loves women far more than I do, as he (she?) keeps implying at every opportunity as they signal their vurtue. I am, after all a committed and guilty misogynist because I dislike a certain radio 4 obsession with female centric programming. That's all you have to do to become a gammon it seems to some people armed with a modern thesaurus of insults and a questionable IQ. But then he/she, the woke lover, the tolerant one, can't wait for all the "boomers" to die, as he/she implied in a thread elsewhere- so what price hypocrisy?

But I digress ... cultural appropriation... is not a woke thing to do - but where does this stop? Should a bollywood actor play the part of a westerner? (I wouldnt be hurt ... if the part was played well then so be it), should a Scot play a soviet submarine commander with a bad accent? (Who cares if the film is good) Would a two legged man playing the part of a one legged man be considered woke today? Would the sketch below be "allowed" today by those so wokenly superior, to we plebs, who take vocal offence on behalf of those who really arent bothered in the slightest? I thank christ that such intellectually superior wokists weren't around to destroy humour 40-50 years ago. How much poorer, puritanical and dour might we have all been. I throw them on ignore early doors, but we are indeed in an interglacial period, a long one. This is of course an extremely obvious statememt that proves pretty much nothing. If its any consulation to the poster, global warming may result in the breakdown of the thermohaline currents which will result in extreme cold for certain areas. It would be ironic enough for these idiots to laugh at the term global warming before we all die out.

Certain types of poster never actually want to discuss and stick to a specific point.

It’s never a case of “ok, Trans people in sports, let’s go through that”.

When do people transition, what age? Puberty blockers, when are they used? Who makes the decision? What happens if the decision was the wrong one? What is an acceptable rate of changed minds on surgery?
