Certain types of poster never actually want to discuss and stick to a specific point.

It’s never a case of “ok, Trans people in sports, let’s go through that”.

There’s a potentially interesting conversation to be had there, as it’s a new phenomenon which is honestly a bit messy and can be thought through to establish a way forward.

Instead it tends to be “Trans people in sports, and women’s bathrooms and critical race theory and climate change and Covid vaccines and people identifying as cats and Me Too and Black Lives Matter and woke ideology and cancel culture and positive discrimination…”.

A gish-galloping, word salad of ideas which they’ve consumed online and are all completely inseparable in their mind.

It is classic, they get questioned on one point of view and then the answer is the nonsense and 90 degrees turns that we see. It does work, it throws us off the path, we stop and start debating the next point and the cycle continues. They then have this sense of winning, it is all very clever of them, even if they are not purposely being clever.

Wrong. There is nearly 100 percent agreement among scientists. Moreover, the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) says that global warming is accelerating, and will reach 1.C above pre-Industrial levels around 2030—a full decade earlier than previously forecast.


Climate change deniers are just the worst.

They watch 1 video on Youtube and think they know more than people who have studied climate change for over 50 years.

Utterly insane.

Possibly. The other day I heard a report that some scientist (I wasn't listening too closely) said the temperatures measured this year were actually warmer than the models predicted.
