The Spurs situation and Everton

When it comes to money and greed than nothing is off the table.

The standard of refs and VAR has been shockingly poor for a while now. It's not corruption they are just dire.

Again, fair enough if you believe people in the highest positions of power in the game are whiter than white, men of the people who are just trying to do their best and are not susceptible to backhanders and brown envelopes. I disagree personally, all about opinions I suppose.

Ok, so all these referees who have worked all there way up through the game from the likes of the home counties who do it for the love of football will suddenly get into line and do whatever it takes for the top 4 or 6 clubs to win at all costs??

Who decides which clubs should be at the mercy of the refs and PGMOL? What year did we as a club lose our cheat code with the refs?

I remember an episode of Fantasy Football League back in the day, with Johnny Rotten one of the guests. He said "England have always been right pox at international level. And it's because of the TOTTENHAM INFLUENCE!"
Always makes me chuckle thinking back😂

If you mean the 5cm rule it was the RS Wirtz goal V Fulham.
No had ever heard of it and no one has since.
Hang on, wasn’t someone’s conk off side last week?

edit -
The Premier League uses a 5cm "
zone of tolerance" for VAR offside decisions, introduced in 2021-22 to account for potential inaccuracies in technology and to benefit attackers. If the attacker's body part is within 5cm of the defender's, the goal is deemed onside, even if they appear marginally offside

I wouldn’t rule that out as a possibility at all but you seem to be ruling out the possibility of corruption point blank. I think in 2026 if you’re still believing that corruption doesn’t take place where elite wealth is concerned, you are more of a tinfoil hat wearer than people who believe it does.

I don’t think Spurs will go down because I don’t believe they will be allowed to go down. I think it’s far stranger to suggest that the Premier League have it in for them because of the Super League fiasco.

A few weeks back I wouldn't have thought Spurs would go down, they have too much quality looking at the squad.

But they are in a downward spiral, its not looking good for them at all. Flashbacks of when Forest got relegated under Clough , everyone thought they were too good to be relegated.

True Mike, but there has to be a point where you are so rubbish, that even all the help in the world from the refs and PGMOL can’t save you?

But the majority of that quality has been injured for most of the season, though? 🤔

2021 /22 and no one, absolutely no one, had heard of it until the PL air lifted the 💩 against Fulham

No chance they get relegated, I'm prepared to be vaulted on that
Right now they technically 'could', as the number of point available to all the contenders dwindles the situation will sort its self out.
They 'should' be good enough to stay up - but sometimes it doesn't work like that.

Nobody is too 'Big', 'Famous', 'In London' etc, etc. To go down

Edit; I actually wish the bottom 6 could ALL go down.

If we got drew against a Championship team in the FA Cup , the fans of that team would automatically think we would be getting favourable treatment from the Refs as we are a Premier League club.

Do you believe we would?
Whether we did or didn't we'd probably still get knocked out 😔

Ambition can be blinding.

I can't recall which referee it was but a year or so ago someone came out and said that EPL referees had to toe a certain line or off to the championship they go, which some did.

We've not had a legit "too good to go down" relegation since West Ham in the early 00s. We are well overdue, tbf.
