The Spurs situation and Everton

We must be supporting the PGMOL , Sky Sports , FA Cup , Premier League in helping to keep Spurs in the Premier League by surrendering to them and losing on purpose.

If we beat or drew with them they would be in the relegation zone.

Why are we supporting this corrupt league system??

Well we had a perfectly good goal disallowed to make it 1-1 so I’m not sure this is the best example to use to suggest the Premier League is completely fair and non corrupt.

No chance they get relegated, I'm prepared to be vaulted on that
I agree, it is economically more advantageous for the premier league for Forest or Leeds to go down, so I'm going to guess that we see fixture changes that give advantages to Spurs and disadvantages to Forest and Leeds, and I also expect to see more dubious VAR decisions to that effect as well. The two London clubs with big stadiums will survive, imo.

No but they probably thought they might be in a Champions League or European fight, it’s the same concept isn’t it? Trying to argue the big 6 don’t get favourable treatment from refs in big massive 2026 🥀

If we got drew against a Championship team in the FA Cup , the fans of that team would automatically think we would be getting favourable treatment from the Refs as we are a Premier League club.

Do you believe we would?

I think it depends on what you consider favourable treatment.

For example, if we were playing against a Championship club, a robust tackle from one of their players that would be acceptable in the Championship would probably be given as a foul against them when playing us, as the referee would likely apply the less permissive refereeing style that we see in the Premier League. Likewise, I think referees often let play flow more in a game in the PL involving mid-table or relegation-threatened teams than they do in games that involve the apparently more "cultured" teams with superstar (prima donna) players and who regularly play in the Champions League. I don't know if the refs do it consciously or sub-consciously, and I am sure they would not consider it giving an advantage to one side over the other, as they would argue that the refereeing standards were equally applied during the game. However, I would argue that the standard of refereeing needs to be consistent not only across a division but across all levels of football and any failure to do that would certainly advantage the teams who do not need to adjust to a new standard. If something is a foul in the Evostick League then it should also be a foul in the Premier League and vice versa.

A lot of other relegation threatened clubs back then could look back at that game and say the Premier League fixed it for us to stay up.

After all we used to be one of the big five.

I wouldn’t rule that out as a possibility at all but you seem to be ruling out the possibility of corruption point blank. I think in 2026 if you’re still believing that corruption doesn’t take place where elite wealth is concerned, you are more of a tinfoil hat wearer than people who believe it does.

I don’t think Spurs will go down because I don’t believe they will be allowed to go down. I think it’s far stranger to suggest that the Premier League have it in for them because of the Super League fiasco.

When it comes to money and greed than nothing is off the table.

The standard of refs and VAR has been shockingly poor for a while now. It's not corruption they are just dire.
