I'm not sure about Keane but 3 new players is probably about all we can hope for especially considering we also need cover for some of those positions.

I’d love us to replicate Chelsea’s 343 formation. We could put out any combo of Walcott Lookman Vlasic Tosun and have a pacy front three. Davies and Siggurdson could play the deep midfield two and we could have Coleman plus a new leftback bombing up the flanks. Holgate RCB, Keane in the middle, Mangala left CB.

Basically anything that isn’t 4231 would work for me.

some positive results ,with a healthy say 7th position , Derby win would be a big plus - if can - playing some attacking footy " please "

then how Mosh handles it from there - some drastic decisions for next season , IMO new manager , clean out squad dead wood , DOF , and or others ?

I always try and be positive but this season has been one of the worst I have experienced for sometime ?

IMO the issues are many ?
3 managers in one season , been beaten like lambs - home and away top 6 Arsenal , Spurs , Man Utd total 23 goals against 3 for , others hit hard Europa results , R/S FAC , Southampton 1-4 , , its seems an unbalanced , disfunctional , demotivated squad , new signings not fitting in ( are we maybe too impatient ? ) , the uncertain future , our board dont engage or seem to acknowledge the concerns of the supporters (EG arrogance from Walsh when questioned on signings )

But the the PL is seeming to be more cut throat every season - 2017/18 - how many managers lost their jobs apart from us I estimate over 6 , managers / players unhappy not performing top 6 Chelsea , Arsenal , United , with another I would estimate +/- 6 teams managers uncertain of there futures ?

Personally I hate that formation. With us it would just just become 5 at the back and we would also get overrun in midfield.

Our CBs aren't good enough on the ball for that to work and the CBs that are good enough cost a fortune and would be impossible to attract. Almost more difficult than top strikers simply because there are so few of them.

I hate it every time we play it. I just know a tonking is on the cards.

4-2-3-1 is fine as long as we don't play two defensive midfielders but we would need a proper No 10 with the ability to run at a back 4.

Well the other option is keeping the useless players we currently have.

Robles will be off, hes out of contract and shown no indication that he is staying, Stekkers seems to be injured a lot, thus we require a new back up GK, unless 1 of the younger lads can step up.

Weve needed a new LB for 2 years.

Jags, Williams and Mori are utter rank, we need 2 new CBs.

Morgan is so done here, we need at the very least 1 new CM.

And we could probably do with a new Striker, even if Tosun is Pele reborn.

So we could probably get away with 1 back up GK, 1 CB, 1 CM, 1 ST, but if we wish to kick on, rather than fix old mistakes, we need 7 players, I count 14 players we could ship out to help pay for them, it would then streamline the squad and leave us with a decent squad base.

Would agree. We don’t need sweeping changes. Would expect maybe 4 in and around 6 out. If we did get europa then this may change. Ultimately it depends who is in charge of the team and recruiting.

We also needed a starting LB and a backup LB for this season.

Just because we need something doesn't mean we will get it.

I sense that many of us would like the season to be over so we can start thinking to the future (hopefully with a new manager), but what positives can we look to get from the rest of the season? Can we blood some youngsters? Get some confidence into the squad?

I think the season is far from over.

Although Sam would have you believe it is all about avoiding relegation, the fact is the 7th Place Trophy and the very real prospect of that getting us Europe next season is what we need to be aiming at.

Nail that 7th place down then I will start thinking about next season

Getting 7th may be a firing offence. I seriously doubt the board would want that.

Put like that it makes sense but I’d only put LB CB CF plus Lookman / Henry into the first 11 to start
