Everyone was referring to the Yak's cheeky smiles - and I loved that he gave a few of them during the game this past weekend. Very, very cheeky. Hope these smiles continue to appear!

But seriously, loved his play the first hour (then he got tired) - used his body wonderfully (as the clip showed), and just looked like a wrecking ball in the final third opposed to clueless Torres.

Good game for him to build up confidence, lets hope the performances will be repeated and he finds his scoring touch before too long. Because that is exactly what our game lacks a free scoring, free running forward.

That was a very creative pass and put Liverpool under pressure. We scored straight after it. It depends how you judge creativity, is a player only creative by making direct assists for players? What about the player who gets that player in a good position, or holds the ball up in the final third? Louis Saha scored goals in the first half of last season, sadly his hold up play was lacking, and the team wasn't getting good results.

He clearly helps the all round team play, that has been obvious throughout his time here, and over the last three games. He also has a good record of scoring goals, and has come close on a few occasions. Do you know off an injury that effects a players finishing ability? slowing players down, sure, I'm not sure about scoring goals though. Has the shape of his foot changed or something? He clearly can score goals, he did that last season, despite limited appearances.

I'd put it more down to confidence and lack of match sharpness personally.

I think you two are on to something.

No, you didn't, but the post I was originally responding to, way back when, was this:

Which I thought was a little premature.

I actually thought all the "Yak Out !!! " posts were premature to be honest.

Maybe his best game since he bagged a hat trick against Chelsea for Boro.

Best hip check I've seen since Darren Bent hip checked Oguchi Oneywu into the 2nd row. Wish I had the video for that.

I proper DIG this Chick' , btw .

I've missed the old Yak, but Sunday showed he's definitely getting back to what he was pre Achilles injury. He seems to have really got his head down and worked hard since a meeting he supposedly had with Moyes to say he now wanted to stay. I'm so happy because his all around play is fantastic, I think he and Cahill link up so well and it warms the heart to see his beaming smile when he's happy :D

I'll never forget him putting those 2 Brann defenders simultaneously on their backside, and nearly taking AJ's head off with that screamer at the Bridge in the CC semi final.

I've always believed in Yak. No fuzz about him and always a smile on his face. His performance Sunday was magnificent !
