Probably. But that doesn't mean it hasn't been a disaster. If there was another Brexit referendum tomorrow Leave would win by an even bigger majority than it did the first time around.

I agree. But Starmer has made it that way by alienating the left. He's done the opposite of what he promised which is why I don't think Labour have a chance under his leadership.Im not disagreeing with that, but we can’t go back to the Blair way of things because that type of politics won’t get labour in power.
Blair was a young, charismatic figure that fronted a new way of politics after decades of stodgy tories.
Starmer is a man in his late 50’s who has the charisma of a wet flannel.
Labour can be an electable party that aligns itself to the centre, running on progressive policies that proved popular in the Corbyn era.
We don’t have to have one or the other.
If the blatant fraud and dogs breakfast the Tories are making of the pandemic wasn't enough to retain a seat like Hartlepool then Starmer needs to do the right thing.Opposition is a tough gig and Long Corbyn is a debilitating illness - evidence continues to emerge that it can harm the patient long after the initial infection period.
I can't say Starmer's looking great right now but most don't in opposition - it's mainly about not making a show of yourself when things are against you, but then being able to capitalise when events shift in your favour. There aren't many Barack Obama's out there - people who look that good in opposition that they can just defy events and set the narrative their way regardless.
Nails it.

Hartlepool fell victim to the Labour leader’s lack of vision | Owen Jones
Having lost a seat that Corbyn outperformed him in twice, it’s Starmer who looks like the less than competent politician now, says Guardian columnist Owen Joneswww.theguardian.com

Huge reduction in exports, loads of extra red tape when less red tape was promised. Irish sea border with Northern Ireland and tensions that come with that. Tensions with France. Reputation of our country dragged through the dirt. Livelihoods of many people in peril as a direct consequence of Brexit. I could go on...In your opinion. The doomsday armageddon peddled by remain hasn't happened

I'd call that a disaster personally. What would you call it?

As long as your company is sorted. That's the main thing.Progress.
I work for a company that exports and its sorted now. Goods are flowing. As a business we have gained lots of business and retailers due to brexit as they find it easier to buy British.
So some livelihoods have been secured
Proof if it were needed that there are companies that have weathered the initial storm. As long as your company is sorted. That's the main thing.
You vote Tory.Yeah.
I voted for him on his unity stance of bringing together the left and centre of the party, thinking he was the most electable.
He’s gone against that and lost every demographic of labour voter we had.
People will disagree and say the left doesn’t matter but they forget the Blair wins had the left vote sewn up and they were lost after Iraq.
Labour can’t get in power without the left, unless they make a pact with greens, Lib Dem’s and offer SNP and referendum.
This is pure delusionKeep blaming the press is not the answer or the cause of Labours demise.
The biggest media channel in the country the BBC is totally pro labour and anti Tory but
they still got hammered. It’s about policies and what they stand for. That’s what people vote on.
You vote Tory.
