Labour aren't going to win a majority in the next 15 years. The Tories can do anything right now and get away with it. Johnson could be videotaped beating his girlfriend and he'd still get the votes. The press control who win the elections as people are easy to manipulate. Depressing really. Having said that I can see why people don't want to vote for Labour at the moment. They don't stand for anything.
Keep blaming the press is not the answer or the cause of Labours demise.
The biggest media channel in the country the BBC is totally pro labour and anti Tory but
they still got hammered. It’s about policies and what they stand for. That’s what people vote on.

Not sure what planet you are on about the BBC.

Simply comes down to what has been before, lots of people in England don't see anything different in what was new Labour tenure with what is being offered now.
New Labour totally failed places like Hartlepool in its 13 years in power, worst still took them for granted.

Anyway well happy with Welsh Labour, absolutely floored all opposition, lots of positive remarks from intellect politic types, remarkable astounding etc.

Labour have been unable to handle the fallout of brexit. They didn’t back it fully so labour brexit voters have switched to the party that did. That’s the main issue here.
would be interested to know how many brexit voters continue to support labour. Would imagine that’s the base they’ve lost.
Brexit is a massive issue no doubt. People would rather believe Tory lies that it's all been a great success rather than accept that it's been a disaster and that they were stupid to back it.

Which makes it even more incredible that they elected the man who pushed for the 2nd referendum as leader.

Welsh Labour led by a left leadership holding onto power and building trust again in seats lost at the 2019 election.

Starmer though will listen to dinosaurs like Mandelson and double down on the attack on the left in the UK LP.

He's defo a sleeper agent activated by Tory HQ.

seemed to work for Blair when he won 3 elections in a row.

Trying to repeat 1997 in 2021 doesn't make sense. The country and indeed the world has changed.

I'd also look to the fact that outside of the PLP, Tony Blair is now one of the most unpopular figures in the UK. Whilst they didn't lose Scotland and the red wall seats in 2010 the rot had already set in.

There are only 40 seats in Wales. You need at least 280 to be able to form some type of government. That means winning probably 250+ seats in England and there is no evidence that a party further to the left can win in England. A centre left party in tune with what voters care about can definitely win but the further left Labour go the harder it is to win.
