Lol.

Starmer sopinning against Rayner and trying to pin the blame on her.

FFS, this is going to be good.

Drakeford is Labour's strongest asset in Wales. Ironic, really, because 18 months ago he was seen as something of a nonentity.

To be fair, Carwyn Jones was quite highly regarded as First Minister.

He was, but I have a hard time believing he'd have either done as well handling this crisis or that he'd get a result like this (in these circumstances).

Britain is pretty much a glorified "one party" state, at this point. I can't see the Conservatives not winning an election, for the rest of my life.

People thought before in the 80s when the tories were in power 18 years. People thought there would never be a tory government again after 97.

Things change, maybe not overnight, but labour should be aiming to be back in power in no more than 2 more election cycles. They need to offer what the people are looking for though and start to understand why people have turned elsewhere.

Labour aren't going to win a majority in the next 15 years. The Tories can do anything right now and get away with it. Johnson could be videotaped beating his girlfriend and he'd still get the votes. The press control who win the elections as people are easy to manipulate. Depressing really. Having said that I can see why people don't want to vote for Labour at the moment. They don't stand for anything.

Winning a majority is going to be a challenge, but of course they can get back into power.

But until labour prioritise winning elections and being pragmatic over ideology, then they aren't going to win. They need to be popular with voters rather than just their own membership.

An 80 seat majority probably takes 2 general elections to overturn so I think there needs to be realistic expectations with Starmer and he will need longer than one set of mid term elections.

Of course winning elections has to be the priority. But if Labour take their own membership for granted then they'll lose them too. If they move to the centre then they're competing with Lib Dems and the Tories for votes while losing the left. That won't work.

Starmer hasn't got the charisma to compete with Johnson. Brexit voters hate him too. He'll probably wait until he gets destroyed in a general election before he quits but I wish he'd go sooner.

seemed to work for Blair when he won 3 elections in a row.
