i heard someone on the news earlier saying that Labour have lost the plot so much 'they are now making enemies of the people they were created to fight for'

They even lost you, the pro-Trump, pro-brexit, pro-royal, anti-immigration, anti-minority, anti-workers rights, Boris-appeasing, ultra labour supporter Arminisgod. That's how you know it's gotten bad

Some dreadful results for Labour looks like they have not firmly got any concrete policies , they have allowed the tories to use their usual trick of divide and conquer and many people have fallen for it , do people not realise the tories have been in power 11 years now all they are promising to do is mend the carnage they created

Burnham stood up to Boris, he’s probably the most obvious candidate and as he stepped aside for Corbyn last time he should get recognition for that and get the left support.
I’d rather vote for a guy in an anorak who stands up to Tories than anyone else.

.....obviously a key problem is that Burnham’s not an MP but he is an Evertonian.

Every decent policy that could improve people's lives is decried as far left these days. You want a party that acts as a tribute act to the Tories? Fine but under 30s like me will desert it and there won't be any appreciation from these so called red wall seats either.
I dont want a tory light party , just one that is electable.
If not pandering to the under 30s vote is the price for winning an election so be it .
Carry on the current path we are doomed for opposition for decades .

It's worse than that - Labour are seen as the London bubble 'woke' party. Starmer taking a knee was disastrous - the amount of people who went 'screw that guy' off the back of it was amazing.

They represent about one in every hundred people in the UK. Every other vote are basically 'hangers on' who vote Labour regardless every election - the people who actually vote Labour because they want to is next to nil.

Starmer is a symptom, not the cause. Hamstrung by the wants of his party membership, without the leadership ability to break free from the shackles of it.

He's now politically wounded to the extent that he's done for. He has no political capital to gut the party to the extent that's required to make Labour viable again.

The usual suspects will deny it time and time again, but the party has been dying since Ed beat David, been dying quicker since they changed the leadership election rules and Corbyn got in, and now it's on its' deathbed.

Hamstrung by the membership? Since elected, he's done pretty much the opposite to what a lot of the members want so I don't know how it can be said they are impeding him from creating the party in his image.

Tory Twitter reckons that utter sideshow freak and all round horrible piece of work Shaun Bailey could take the London Mayorality.

I don't think he will, because any green votes will switch to Labour in a second round, but if it does happen, the Labour Party should probably be put out of it's misery immediately.

Just like the people in these northern towns the under 40s will desert the party if they don't offer a bold vision on how to improve their lives.

I just couldn't see a centrist platform inspiring people to go out and vote in an age of populism.
