But the only FPN Johnson received was for a cake presentation on a workplace break with colleagues who he had been with all day.

On the same absurd interpretation of the law applied (that every single gathering had to be essential for work purposes) it means the gatherings some NHS staff did for tiktok dances were also illegal. They were not essential for work purposes, either.

I am most definitely not a Tory. But I am for the rule of law, fairness and equal enforcement of the law.

You may say, "But there were loads of parties at 10 Downing St."

And those present were FPNd.

There were also many other MPs from other parties who broke lockdown law and received no penalties. But only Sunak & Johnson were sanctioned.

That is not equal application of law. And that affects us all. If a PM and Chancellor can't get equal treatment before the law, what chance has the young disabled woman from a poor area before a PIP tribunal?
The public could not visit a dying relative in hospital - your a disgrace posting that ....

You are a disgrace for deliberately missing the point, or not being able to understand it.

The FPNs were absurd, and misapplied the law. That remains unchanged. They actually meant that it needed to be essential for people to go into work. Not that every single gathering of people in a workplace had to be essential, which was how it was applied.

Deathbed visits were allowed by law, by the way. Some individual hospitals decided otherwise.

If you are gonna have a pop, at least know what you are on about.

What on earth are you on about?
This could go in a lot of threads in the CA.

Also, When will someone piece together the two child benefit cap and this now outrageous attack on the elderly and all in between being squeezed for the difference?

If only they'd written it on a bus and been pictured having a laugh over a few pints.

No parties mate, wine was delivered to parliament all through Covid - get your facts correct - they were fined - they were guilty by law OK - that's the facts - even Sunack was at a party = fined - guilty OK - your post is a disgrace - end of - They made the ru;les & broke them proven -

This thread is as bad as its ever been - you have your Labour Government - best of luck :bye:

Starmer's leadership campaign was a complete fraud. 10 Pledges, many were lies. No abolition of tuition fees or HoL, no nationalisation of utilities, no protection of freedom of movement, no abolition of universal credit, no Act of Parliament to mandate a HoC vote before military action.

He got away with it because of lack of scrutiny from broadcast media.

It seems the GE campaign will turn out to be the same. His dishonesty and/or Sue Gray's manouevring will be his downfall.

He now has 4& 1/2 years with a super majority, though - & anyone who votes against him is suspended for 6 months in his party - he is not a socialist - my dad was a toolmaker etc i worked for the PP as a top barrister - a conman already IMO -

Why shouldn't pensioners pay for their own care costs?

I thought a dyed in the wool Tory was all about personal responsibility?

Why shouldn’t people in hospital pay for their bed, food, operation etc etc. People don’t go into care homes for a holiday or a bit of fun, they require medical support and nursing attention, something for which they have paid for their whole lives in taxes. I think it’s an absolute disgrace that these people are effectively abandoned by the NHS. The care cap would have at least limited the financial burden to £86,000 for adults of all ages. Labour and supporters of this should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves……

They were not 'guilty by law'. You are ignorant and out of your depth. The Court of Appeal in R v Gore (2009) were clear that an FPN is not a finding of guilt and payment not an admission: "Payment of the penalty involves no admission of guilt on the part of the person to whom it is given, nor does it create a criminal record. These are important limitations." https://www.bailii.org/cgi-bin/form.../Crim/2009/1424.html&query=(Gore)+AND+(maher)

Sunak was not at a party. He walked into a workplace gathering of workmates on a lunchbreak.

Wine was delivered to Parliament? Well yeah, MPs are grasping hypocrites, irrelevant to my point that the FPNs were absurd.

Try learning the facts.

Where was Bazza's FPN? https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/politics/labour-say-barry-gardiner-wrong-22137133

Where was Tahir's? https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/news/midlands-news/police-issue-warning-mp-tahir-18038507

Corbyn's? https://www.independent.co.uk/news/...coronavirus-labour-boris-johnson-b735766.html

There are plenty more.
