For the first time in history, those who are retired will be taking far more out than they’ve ever put in and this is the generation that has most of the wealth. It’s only fair that they are asked to contribute a bit more. The NI cut should stay and we should be looking at taking more from those who can afford it.

I paid more NI & tax all my working life from the age of 16 years old - 70 hours overtime a month in the spring - I am OK financially, but this is a Labour Government mate - the bankers the Non Doms the high earners who profited far more with that illegal NI deduction - you tell me how is that a socialist Labour Government - you can't - end of -

I think you'd need to nationalise and work there to get a pension. Well, maybe not when we were in the EU. But now, yes.

Leaving the UK ain't a bad shout tbf. I'm strongly considering leaving longer term. The wife wouldn't mind moving back to her home country and all being well I can get a visa/naturalise easily.

They're still giving the allowance to people on pension benefits - they are just removing it for people who are not.

I'm not even sure that last bit is true - sounds like another imaginary Daily Mail tax/increase - but the price of energy has been going through the roof for years, which again was all Russia's fault. The war is still going on but if it goes up under Labour it will all of a sudden be their fault?

I was going to say that. Ive seen nothing about gas/elec rises coming..
