Sorry to burst your bubble but I'm not virtue signalling and never would. I put in the yards for Labour when it was the right thing to do. Labour voter and Party member for years, was once a Youth Officer and later Vice Chair of my ward Labour branch. Everybody who knows me knows my views and that I have subscribed to Communist and Marxist newspapers. I'm not armchair theorising and I don't expect to make friends because of my views.

Poverty happens because of capitalism and greed. The top 1% in this country has as much wealth as the bottom 70%. It's a rigged economy and it's rigged in favour of those with influence so they can preserve their influence.

Yes I do think Starmer supports genocide. The uncomfortable truth for him is he said Israel has the right to cut water off, and the ICJ has now found Israel's imposed starvation and famine on Palestinians to be in violation of international law.

Are we ignoring the crimes committed in the name of capitalism? The horrors of Neoliberalism in Chile, the murder of Socialists and Communists across South America, the insidious influence of the USA in conflicts around the world. East Timor, Dominican Republic, Iraq, Afghanistan, Korea. You might hate communism but align yourself with anti-communists and you'll find yourself defending crimes similar to those Israel is committing now. Just remember, the first people in the concentration camps were the Trade Unionists and Socialists.

Lets say Starmer calls for a ceasefire does the bloodshed stop? Will both sides listen?
Should the UK join forces and go to war against Israel?
Should we stop funding Ukraine to feed our kids?
Moral choices are easily attacked, but have to understand hard decisions have to be made, we cannot afford to support everyone and give them abundance.

You naming these hardships proves my point. Poverty and war happens regardless of your political leaning. Relating that to wealth distribution, then what is fair? Yes wealth inequality has risen over recent years (under the Tories) and it is now time for Starmer to try and fix it, but it hasn't been three weeks yet. Perspective is important.
