Any opposition is important though, it's not good to simply try and wipe it out. Many of the 7 aren't 'far left' and are decent politicians. It's embarrassing
Navel gazing mouth breathers then. They have failed to support the king speech, which outlines reducing child poverty. Which is a bit more than 2 child benefit cap, #beingontrend.

Maybe giving the new cabinet time to get their feet under the table would be sensible. It was mentioned that this is the earliest backbench rebellion since 1945, and seemingly led by Corbyn's ally's. I am sure that the cabinet see some of these people as being committed to causing trouble regardless of the issue.

Yep, 4.3 Million children in poverty in the UK and 1.6 million kids affected by the cap. Not all families under this cap are in poverty btw.

So if you scrap it then you only partly solve the problem for at most 37% of kids in poverty. Do the other 63%+ not matter?

It's quite a big thing to open the votes on though isn't it, it's not the £2 bus price cap.i have no idea what the other first votes have been in history, but maybe you do. It's completely fine for MP's to vote in favour the areas they serve

It is an issue among many. I am sure that they will resolve the matter at some point as from what I have seen non of the cabinet think that it is a non issue, just that they have identified intitial tasks to address as they can not do everything due to the mess we are in. It is OK for a team to remain committed and unified to delivering also.

Is labours plan enough though?

This is part of the debate. Is labours plan enough to lift children out of poverty, without lifting the cap?

There are a lot of doubts over that.
