Is there a more punchable face out there than Jonathan Ashworth's btw?

The feller's been screaming about being democratically defeated by a Gaza candidate for the last 3 weeks on EVERY news programme you turn on.

He was defeated because he failed to speak out against genocide and now he's blaming the people who voted against him who wanted their MP to step up and speak on their behalf.

It's hilarious looking at his gammon gob near exploding.

He'll be ok though. Starmer has no doubt told him he'll get a safe seat away from Muslim voters when it comes up.

Debbonaire has piped up a few times as well in a similar fashion. She got proper smashed by the Greens by about 10k votes iirc

Yeah. She'll get a safe seat too.

Maybe he can shoehorn her into one of the 7 rebel's constituencies.

He'd no doubt think that was a nice trick.

This Starmer party will be utterly hated by the end of the year.

Well lets hope we see this government do enough to pull children out of poverty in the long term.

I'm sure they'll do their bit, but not convinced it will be enough.

I grew up in a single parent family and was poor for most of my childhood. I know how important state support is for the wellbeing of the children and parents.

I speak from experience. This could have made a massive difference to families in the short and long term.

Just listened to him on LBC - his pathway getting back to work was easy for him .....

One absolute nit.

Would it be okay if we had one week without hearing from the helium voiced horror?

Ended up with his kecks pulled over his head for being a spineless rat.

I think the suspension of the 7 is an issue for most here, which is getting ignored
I think laying down a red line to the remnants of a rebellious Corbyn faction was the issue dealt with.

As Burnham points out, they're a couple of weeks in to a new administration and these sorts are just primed to snipe at anything the new government do. The new cabinet have been clear about the plan and the decisions they have made.

On the flip side, Ian Byrne lives in a constituency with a 43% child poverty rate so he did right by his constituents which is still important.

Any opposition is important though, it's not good to simply try and wipe it out. Many of the 7 aren't 'far left' and are decent politicians. It's embarrassing
