Current Affairs The Labour Party

Read the links I’ve posted. Are you at least willing to admit that the 2 years aspect of the gender recognition certificate is originally a Labour Policy not a Tory Policy? From a time when you voted for the Labour Party? I’ve given you the link. Or are you just using transgender issues as as something to use against Starmer rather than actually caring about the issue at hand?

If not then what I said before is true. You are an idiot. And I will actually do a u-turn which you seem to love. I’m not done. I will continue to call you out (with evidence) when you post utter rubbish.
If you checked my posting history in here on transgender you'd see that my interest is a genuine concern for that group...unlike you who is obviously willing to throw them under a bus if it means you can defend Starmer and his neocon party.

That today was a u-turn on the promise to intervene and make the process of changing gender more bearable and easy. If you cant see that then that's down to you and your failure to balance out what was promised and what's been delivered.

...and let;s see what changes they make after Starmer's had his meeting with that 'kin hobgoblin "writer"...no doubt it'll be diluted even more.

Find me a single post where I’ve been anti-transgender people. Anyway I’ll go back to my point that you can’t read. Labour are pledging to make things easier for transgender people.

Will you ever address the fact that the 2 years proof of gender dysmorphia was initially a Labour policy and not a Tory one? A Labour Party that at that time you voted for.

No, no, no.

FFS, how can you even think that?

Shame on you.
A little taste...

I mean does anybody even like Starmer?

Hes quite unlikeable, it seems.

Not really, no. I'm gobsmacked that the man I first saw as a wholly impotent Shadow Brexit sec. and was 50/50 at best on for the leadership is on the verge of reversing the Johnson majority (how much of that he's responsible for is an open question).

I do respect that he's had a professional career at a high level for decades, rather the standard MP route these days of using any old job for a stepping stone into office. Sunak sort of fits the bill too actually, but apparent legal kowtowing to the Yanks aside, give me a human rights lawyer anyday over a hedge fund tech bro making stacks of cash from the nation's misery.

I'm hardly a #notmyleader type and I think an election win should give him a lot of leeway, but I'm frankly more excited about the possibilities of a younger, stronger lefter-leaning leader emerging, maybe even from the hopefully-large incoming crop. If there's any political justice then the Tories should be done for a generation and Labour should be able to set the agenda for a while.

I'm prepared to be disappointed in this so there's no need to quote this to me in the years to come as some sort of waifish naïvety. But I think it's better to be disappointed than watching on in abhorrence at a Government being purposely bad.

Let's be clear on this: 'Labour' are "making things easier" so much that they cant even state in their manifesto what they'll do in government. As The Independent states today it'll go out to consultation now post election...and we all know what that means with Starmer's party. No doubt they'll be reassuring the hobgoblin harpy right now that they'll do substantially f.a. more than the Tories on gender transitioning. And both Tories and 'Labour' are committed to sticking to the very conservative Cass Commission findings which discourages gender transition - especially prior to the age of 18.

You're the dishonest one in this debate. You try to position me as just attacking the Starmer party and using Trans rights issues to do it here in this particular case, when you obviously couldn't give a flying one for those people and only want to defend the neocon Starmer faction who've seized control of the PLP.

If you want an honest and open debate on this you need to hold your hand up on that.

How on Earth can I have an honest debate with you? You ignore anything I post and just go off on a tangent.

I'll ask you one question at a time which maybe you will answer. Will you acknowledge that the 2 year period for people looking to change their gender was initially a Labour policy rather than a Tory one?

In all seriousness, it isn’t.

It’s actually quite sad that this is the reality of the country.

We finally had a Labour person at our door, he was fairly young and seemed a nice guy and all they seem to be going for is 'a vote for labour means the Tories out'. No news about local policies or anything, if anything it seems the complete lack of opposition for labour is making them complacent now as they're picking up points just by the Tories being unbelievably bad.

Labour need to get some decent changes in before the Tories get their party in shape so they don't look like a party that really hasn't changed much other than a few less corrupt cronies
