Current Affairs The Labour Party

That was never a promise so it’s not a u-turn, that is my point!! And they never said they would get rid of the two year period and they have actually pledged to make it easier for people to get a gender recognition certificate.

Also a bit rich of you to accuse me of ignoring points when you have been wilfully doing it through this entire exchange.
This isn't too difficult understand:

1/ the 'Labour' Party had no stated aim to continue with the Tory policy of applying a 'reflection' period to the recognition process, it stated that they'd make it easier for gender recognition. Is that making it easier? No, it isn't. It''s doubling down on the Tories time block.

2/ they stated before the election that the aim was to get a GP involved in decision making on gender recognition. That now isn't happening.

...but you say nothing has changed.

That makes no sense, and I think you know it.

And Galloway is your "Precious", despite his party's stance on Trans issues (suddenly a huge deal when you can put the boot into Starmer) being 'offputting'.

You're not up to this debate, sonny Jim.

TBF as DPP he was attacked by a Parliamentary Committee looking into the phone hacking scandal that he did practically f.a. to investigate the scandal until the brown stuff hit the fan.

He was in bed with the NOTW and Murdoch even way back then.

Of course he works for the S*n and takes their cash and spits in the face of the families and friends of 97 victims of a state crime.

Some Scousers are voting for this utter disgrace. Unreal.
Some scousers voted for Boris f*****g Johnson ffs

It won't become a debate until you start adopting some consistent positions you can defend. At the moment you're just "Starmer bad!", and there isn't really any way of engaging with you on it because having been shown up once, 30 minutes later you'll just launch non sequitur into some new tirade against the man on a totally different line. It's easier now just to go straight to the mockery because we all know it's imminent in anything you post on the subject.

It's hoping in vain I know, but maybe after the election you and your political bedfellows like Farage can pipe down for a bit and let some sensible people have a go at running things for a while, and the grown ups amongst us can discuss the incoming Labour failures without resorting to the bilge you've made your forté.

I mean you’re just inventing things now. I’ve provided you evidence of their stance and what changes they are proposing and you are wilfully ignoring them. Absolutely pointless engaging with you.

It’s also not a Tory policy. Labour introduced the 2 year rule with the Gender Recognition Act in 2004.

This link is from 2005 but that was still a Labour government. Assuming you were voting for them then?

That's the other thing as well I should have mentioned, it's the obvious fabrications over and over. That's generally how each strand of the thread starts, then Dave backpedals whilst insisting no such thing is happening, then a short while later, rather than admit defeat there'll be some new link or tweet with "He's just a Red Tory" and off we go again.

It's master-tier trolling, I hope. Nobody can be this rabidly wrong for so long, surely.

You're ridiculous.

He’s only warming up mate, wait until Labour are in power, that’s when we’ll get the full on rabid dog.

You clearly didn’t read the article. They are scrapping the panel and it will be replaced by a specialist in gender issues, not a GP.

It's a serious issue and a defining point of difference in Labour vs Tory that Labour will seek expert medical advice instead of pandering to culture war nonsense.

That @davek will use an important issue that effects many people to fill the void in his life and personality via an online forum tells us much about the sadness of his existence
