So, after a lengthy detour around feminism, political Correctness, and associated gender politics we've lost sight of the incel issue.

Let's bring the focus back a little. Hands up who thinks incels are a force for good?

Shout boooooo if you think they're in the same camp as Jordan Peterson faux intellectual types who pull all kinds of mental and verbal gymnastics to justify hating women and seem reasonable.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Boooooooouuuurrrrnnsss

As in Marty has burned you all senseless on here. Especially RAF. Who tapped out a long time ago. He's coming for the rest of you.

We are basically talking about people who have little or no power who feel they are entitled to it. Little people who think they deserve to be big.

TBF I am not sure we are - these types seem to be rejecting reality in favour of a fantasy, probably precisely because the fantasy is unobtainable (and therefore doesn’t require them to compromise like everyone else has to).

I mean to take just “involuntary celibacy” as a concept - in most of the west nowadays this is something that (without a medical cause) is almost impossible without making an effective choice to do it.

Everything from brasses, nightclubs to Tinder exists almost everywhere, but to do that these men would have to leave their notions of who they are (invariably more honourable than the rest of us) behind.

Oh I’m sure they’ve created their own little fantasy world but that’s to provide themselves with some semblance of control and to distract from the fact they lack the skills and power they need to exist in society.

It’s not just this though. Everything is about power.

I don't fully agree with the thesis about gender roles and stereotypes, because there's a lot of people that have fought pretty hard against that on both sides. I see where you're coming from, though.

I have to agree with the bits about political correctness and social media culture.

I believe his point is that it happens every day, mate. Both sides have their witches.

I agree I've never bought into the whole gender roles in society its a load of nonsense - people should be able to do what they want with their lives.

what I would say however is that men and women are biologically different which is scientific fact however modern society doesn't allow that to be talked about/displayed in modern day to day life.

Women cant be women anymore - they have unrealistic expectations to fullfill of having to look perfect all the time, having to have a good job as to be seen as being independent therefore the natural desire for many to have children/a family is lost or certainly delayed to later on in life likewise lads have to be toned, tanned, drive a Aldi/Merc on finance, be seen to have feelings but cant then approach a girl at a bar for a chat without the 50/50 chance of them being labelled some sort of fiend.

Now I've settled down and dont really go out much anymore im often out the loop these days with whats going on but from the outside looking in we seem a society with little direction - you throw in social isolation + nut jobs on social media like Alex Jones and having to keep up with the Jones' on social platforms and there will be people who'll slip through the cracks.

Lol, you are talking nonsense if you think “anyone” can go to a nightclub and pull. Likewise, have you ever actually used tinder? All the data shows it is a massive sausage fest and is very, very difficult for the average man. Approaching strangers in public is also not very socially acceptable anymore, so that’s another avenue for people closed off. Also brasses do not solve the issue of actually being wanted/desired by someone. It’s a notion that in theory works- you get your end away and release some frustration. Then comes the post nut clarity and you realise you had to spend actual money to get a woman to fake interest in you.

I think we need to be conscious of the fact there are real issues in modern society when it comes to dating and relationships, whilst also acknowledging these issues do not give anyone the right to resort to misogyny, hatred etc. But it’s naive, as I’ve seen people in this thread do, to think that it’s all about someone’s “personality”. It’s where the memes of “just get a shower bro, just get a haircut bro, just go to the gym bro” come from. As if it’s that straight forward. It comes from a place of solipsism- they have had success with women/have a partner and therefore cannot understand why other people cannot accomplish this.

TBF I've got a female friend who is in the process of writing a book about how grim Tinder is for women, based on her experiences with it, too.

I think you’ve misread a lot here. The point was not that anyone can go to a nightclub and pull, or that Tinder is great, or that brasses are a sensible use of anyone’s money - it’s that these things (and many others) exist, and that complaining about involuntarily celibacy when you don’t even attempt to avail yourself of / attempt such things kind of reveals that the issue might be with you.
