I find it pathetic how some of our fans are desperate to lay so much blame at his door just because they don't like him and can't see things with any sense of perspective. For me, he has come in and done an average job, but he should have done enough by the end of the season to steer this poor side clear of relegation. He started off great, yet these same people couldn't give him any credit which just makes any criticism now have less weight because these people are so obviously against him. Now he is admittedly doing poor, and I have no issue criticising him.

Positives:
  • Put a good run of results together initially, which should be enough to contribute towards us being safe
  • Got us our first league away victory in 11 months within 2 attempts.
  • Returned to basics and had our poor defence keeping clean sheets
  • Has looked to add some quality going forward by bringing in Tosun and Walcott

Negatives:
  • After having a good plan early on, has decided to change that which has led to poor performances
  • Been far too cautious in certain games - West Brom x 2 and Bournemouth
  • Continued the trend of misusing players like Lookman and hindered his development. Brings him on Against LFC, then doesn't play him.
  • Most signifcantly, has not acknowledged how serious the LB problem is. Persisting with Martina. It's our biggest weakness.
  • Carried on with this negative tactic of having 2 defensive midfielders and no creativity in the centre

Everyone calling for Vlasic to play to give us more creativity,Allardyce plays him...

Allardyce hasn't gone about that in the right way either in my opinion. You can't expect any player to put in good performances after playing one week, being dropped for 5 or 6 games, then brought back in and dropped again. Let alone a 19 year old who is inexperienced in this league. He has managed that situation poorly, along with Lookman.

If he thinks Bolasie should be a starter, which I disagree with at the moment due to his long spell out, then he should at least be giving Lookman and Vlasic 25-30 mins consistently off the bench to allow them to get a good run of form going and progress.

Having said that, the Left Back situation makes it hard for whoever is put out on the left to play well anyway, so that is an added dimension to the poor performances we're seeing from certain players being expected to produce a good performance in that position.

no manager would be getting any better results with this squad as it is.

its all sams fault this mess we are in tho.

keep blaming sam.

pity your unsy couldn't turn the ship round, he had ample time to get us top 4.

He has tried nothing new and nothing seems to have changed really. Other than the brief confidence boost that yielded those couple of results when he joined we have been crap and he doesn't seem to have any ideas.

His lineups are similar to those of Rhino and Koeman played give or take 1 or 2 due to injury or a preferred player. i.e dumping Klassen and martina at LB

His football is uninspiring and lacks any semblance of an attacking move.

I reckon there has to be a number of coaches out there who could make us play better with the team we have

Positives:
  • Put a good run of results together initially, which should be enough to contribute towards us being safe- Indeed he did but in most those games we were poor and lucky
  • Got us our first league away victory in 11 months within 2 attempts. very lucky
  • Returned to basics and had our poor defence keeping clean sheets very lucky, Newcastle hit the post a few times, WBA missed sitters which no team in this division should miss, won't mention the Chelsea game because that was pathetic, Huddersfield are awful away from home but fair do's on this one
  • Has looked to add some quality going forward by bringing in Tosun and Walcott Tosun has played 2 games and not even had a single chance, had no service and was brought off at home against 19th in the prem when down, Walcott is a good buy but how is that a allardyce positive?

Negatives:

he is a chancer, I said even when he put a few wins together we were still playing awful we just had luck on our side and it wont last forever, oh luck, we stop getting lucky and we start dropping points everywhere

there is literally not a single positive from his time here, maybe only Holgate has looked a better player at CB

So you are claiming that...

Being in a higher position than when he came in is not a positive?

Being further away from the relegation zone in terms of points since when he was announced manager, and after the West Ham game when he officially took charge is not a positive?

Getting an away win for the first time in 11 months after just 2 attempts is not a positive?

higher position- barely

further away from the relegation zone- again barely

as if you are using that a manager as 1 away win in 2 months as a positive, when even that win was lucky

I will also the say the run of fixtures has been far easier for Sam than what unsworth had

one of the many problems this club has atm is fans accepting mediocracy, and this useless manager epitomises that

So my first 2 counter arguments are factually correct but you're dismissing them by using the word barely. So if a team wins 1-0 with a goal in the 95th minute you'd say they barely won the game? It's a ridiculous line of argument and proves that where Allardyce is concerned you simply cannot give any credit whatsover.

You then try and belittle that he earned us an away win in only 2 attempts which both Unsworth and Koeman failed to do in a domestic away this season, and something the team had not achieved in 11 months. I am not claiming it to be some great achievement that we beat Newcastle, but it is still a positive whichever way you look at it.

How have the fixtures been kinder to Allardyce? In our last 10 games we have faced a top 6 side on 5 occasions, including 2 trips to Anfield. Unsworth played a top 6 side once in 8 matches. I have no idea how you are coming to the conclusions you are and especially on the harder games thing.

Hes fat Sam and shoudnt Be anywere near us.

4 managers have not struggled. Maybe we just aren't much good

I fear that this is the case. I was disappointed with the results against West Brom and Bournemouth but why in truth should we EXPECT to beat those teams? Our players heads go down too easily and our defence is poor. An new CB and LB is needed regardless of who the manager is.
