You just want someone to blame and he's convenient. That midfield is one of the worst I've seen and I was at the 1966 Cup Final.

No I’m blaming him because he’s a god awful dinosaur manager who is delivering absolute garbage whilst being paid £6.5m per year.

He talks that he would be better equipped managing Real Madrid or Inter, yet can’t set up a team to defend, isolated his striker and has a philosophy of hoofing a ball into the final third and picking up the scraps to start the attacks from there.

He’s a media lovey who talks himself into managers positions and takes no responsibility for the mess he created, as he’s doing right now. Spouted off how easy it would be, picked up a few wins then as us on a path spiralling down the table.

Yet, he still picks spineless cowards, buys a new centre forward and still has him totally isolated. He his the most anti football manager in existence and we have fans defending him

His game plan was to lump balls up to a 6ft striker who was up against a 6ft4 and 6ft2 central defence.
No it wasn't....he just didn't expect our defence and midfield to pass the ball to the opposition. They are a poor team, low on confidence, none of them want the ball and no-one is making runs.

We were playing at home against one of the worst teams on the league
They have 2 yes 2 CBS who are well over 6’
So what do we do , play 1 striker and try and play hoofball and hope he wins it in the air.
We leave Gana and Rooney on the bench and only play one winger
We continue to play Martina at left full
Ashley Williams can play left full
It may be unfashionable but why not play 4/4/2
Pickford

Kenny
Holgate
Jags
Williams

Walcott
Gana
Siggy
Bolassie

Cenk
DCL/Rooney / Naisse

No same style of crap hoofball week in week out
He’s gone in the summer

As someone who was there, it absolutely was.

Perhaps if he’d played one defensive mid, set up wide and on the deck with wingers running in behind we might have won.

But instead we played to West Brom’s strengths and got humiliated at home once again.

He's inherited the worst Everton squad in living memory, yet he's taken us from relegation candidates into the top 10.

You must be very young if your memory does not reach back far enough to remember Mike Walkers squad and Walter Smiths squad.
This squad ( with the addition of a left footed LB) is the best squad outside the top six by some distance

I had to sign up just to voice my absolute astonishment at how many people actually expressed even the remotest desire to have AVB as manager. I'm more of a lurker, and take an interest in Everton (as my brother supported them since we were young, early 90's) despite being a lifelong Spurs fan.

I can tell you, without wavering doubt and with utmost seriousness seriousness, that no one with any real knowledge of him would want him near their club. If you think Big Sam has awful football, then I can assure you that life wouldn't be worth witnessing under AVB. Some of us are still only just getting over the expectation of being beat 5 or 6 nil by every top 6 team. He's shown his value with both Spurs and Chelsea, teams that were a lot stronger under him (on paper) than Everton have been during the whole PL era (and stability? the bloke is only 40, and has managed 6 teams in 9 years).

The current Everton season has parallels with our 2nd season with AVB - he went out and spent a fortune on Football-Manager-shortlist players, without thinking about the team as a whole. Everyone thought we would do well, but got pummeled until he was given the push. It took Pochettino a while to sort out the team, to such a point where the media and the fans were calling for his head in the first few months (we were 12th in the table after 12 games, with 14 points in Pochettino's first season).

It strikes me as odd that some fans on here accept that up until Cenk and Walcott came in, the team was looking quite patch and poor - yet you're surprised that you have had to resort to basic football in order to stay out of trouble. You won't get football like Man City have, because the majority of your team are (in footballing terms) unfamiliar with each other, having played few games together, and no doubt in a bit of a twizz having played under 3 managers in the past 3 months.

The rags have done a stellar job of making Allardyce hated more than Abu Hamza. It's really weird.
Stopped reading at "lifelong spurs fan" ..
56 years and counting....dont need bottlers to tell us we are crap..
