You just want someone to blame and he's convenient. That midfield is one of the worst I've seen and I was at the 1966 Cup Final.Oh ok, so he takes no responsibility then
Boss, guess he has a safety net
Sake

No it wasn't....he just didn't expect our defence and midfield to pass the ball to the opposition. They are a poor team, low on confidence, none of them want the ball and no-one is making runs. His game plan was to lump balls up to a 6ft striker who was up against a 6ft4 and 6ft2 central defence.
He's inherited the worst Everton squad in living memory, yet he's taken us from relegation candidates into the top 10.

Stopped reading at "lifelong spurs fan" ..I had to sign up just to voice my absolute astonishment at how many people actually expressed even the remotest desire to have AVB as manager. I'm more of a lurker, and take an interest in Everton (as my brother supported them since we were young, early 90's) despite being a lifelong Spurs fan.
I can tell you, without wavering doubt and with utmost seriousness seriousness, that no one with any real knowledge of him would want him near their club. If you think Big Sam has awful football, then I can assure you that life wouldn't be worth witnessing under AVB. Some of us are still only just getting over the expectation of being beat 5 or 6 nil by every top 6 team. He's shown his value with both Spurs and Chelsea, teams that were a lot stronger under him (on paper) than Everton have been during the whole PL era (and stability? the bloke is only 40, and has managed 6 teams in 9 years).
The current Everton season has parallels with our 2nd season with AVB - he went out and spent a fortune on Football-Manager-shortlist players, without thinking about the team as a whole. Everyone thought we would do well, but got pummeled until he was given the push. It took Pochettino a while to sort out the team, to such a point where the media and the fans were calling for his head in the first few months (we were 12th in the table after 12 games, with 14 points in Pochettino's first season).
It strikes me as odd that some fans on here accept that up until Cenk and Walcott came in, the team was looking quite patch and poor - yet you're surprised that you have had to resort to basic football in order to stay out of trouble. You won't get football like Man City have, because the majority of your team are (in footballing terms) unfamiliar with each other, having played few games together, and no doubt in a bit of a twizz having played under 3 managers in the past 3 months.
The rags have done a stellar job of making Allardyce hated more than Abu Hamza. It's really weird.
