The "In Defence of Allardyce Thread "

i take it you're a teenager?
the front 4 that finished the game cost 120m, an amateur league manager could get them to be more effective

Andy Carroll cost £35million, but he was still crap.

The fact that we've spent hundreds of millions but still have a crap squad says more about Koeman's stupidity than it does about Big Sam.

I've rarely seen a side so low in confidence. No one wants the ball, the whole passing game is shot completely, we have so little pace in the side and little movement, we are losing all the 50/50 tackles and fouling in frustration. The only thing that will change it is goals and some better players in midfield and both full back positions. Koeman is responsible for that legacy not Allardyce, he has to now pick up the shitty stick and take the abuse until/if he can turn it around.
I don’t deny their heads are down, and we certainly need a decent centre mid as Klaasen doesn’t seem to be the answer

This is the typical stereotype attack people made before he was appointed. This team were playing like this before then. You are describing the way we are playing and its right but the blame lies with Koeman not Allardyce. Koemans transfer policy was garbage. We have hoofball because the alternative is a pass going to an opposition player.

Koeman wasn't in charge of transfers though we have a DoF.

The Football was dire this season under Koeman but surely the solution should of been to bring in a better DoF and a better manager. Instead Moshiri has decided to keep Walsh and bring in BFS who has a far worse track record than Koeman.

Koeman has won far more trophies and has a much better win percentage.

Is it his fault that the players make mistakes and are nit brave enough on the ball. No. But he is not the most exciting manager.

However some fans have fail to realise that everton have quite often been the whipping boys for many teams since martinez second season.

Before sam came in time and time again under kieman and martinez we have been trounced by 3/4/5 goals. Thia is a rot that was here before sam came in and he came in to stop it and apart from spurs he has done that.

Koeman in charge we could be bottom now.

We need a boring manager to stop the rot and become the whipping boys of the league.

Some are embarrassmed to have sam in charge.

I am more concerned about stopping the whipping norm for EFC.

Stopped reading at "lifelong spurs fan" ..
56 years and counting....dont need bottlers to tell us we are crap..

That's your choice.

The "bottler" thing is always (imo) a weird (lazy) attempt at an insult, considering at no point have Spurs actually been in prime position for anything - never been top of the league, or comfortably leading a cup final in recent years. If anything, we get called "bottlers" when we've overachieved, like the fans of the clubs who say wouldn't be in seventh heaven for finishing 2nd in the league, or getting to a cup final.

Weirder still, is that an Everton fan would choose to call spurs "bottlers" over their red neighbours, considering they've spent the last 5 or 6 years eternally bottling every competition they've been in.

Regardless, I wasn't calling Everton "crap", it was more a tale of "be careful what you wish for". Plenty of other club's fans have overlooked SA over-achieving with a team, only to see their calls for his head taken, and then swiftly seen "better" managers get their team relegated or perform severely worse.

I give up.

Who then ?
Leicester
Burnley
Watford
Huddersfield.
There’s not a better squad outside the top six
A manager with a set of balls and a desire to try and play a bit of attacking football would help
JJK had our first shot on target in 3 and a half games today
90% of the time we played the ball into the box today we had one man there

"Koeman and I both have to agree for a player to come. If one of us says no we knock it on the head."

That is just Walsh looking to take the credit for the transfer successes at Leicester. The big problem with that is the fact that he wasn't the Director of Football at Leicester Jon Rudkin has been the DOF since 2014 and before that it was Terry Robinson.

Walsh is clearly a good scout but that is far different from the role he has with us.

After yet another turgid, horrible game, in which we were very lucky to escape with a point, is there anyone out there, who still thinks he`s the right man for the job ?

He says there is a lack of confidence, and there is, we can all see it. What he hasn’t twigged yet is that he is in charge of motivating the players and improving confidence, it needs him to do something and I don’t mean saying that we are in a relegation scrap......
