..I didn’t particularly want him. I didn’t particularly not want him. I do think managerial appointments are lots to do with right person, right place, right time.

He’s inherited a squad that lacks quality and balance. I thought he did terrific getting us to 27 points by Christmas. I honestly don’t know if any other coach could’ve done better. I really don’t know if it was ‘bounce’ factor, luck, tactical nous or his man management that had such an immediate impact in terms of points. Whatever it was it was extremely timely.

The quality of performance remains poor but i’m not certain anybody could get a tune out of this group. I like Alkardyce’s interviews, he talks well as far as i’m concerned. The challenge now is to keep eeking out results. We need to see his/Walsh’s signings making a difference.

He’s done ok but he needs to do ok for the rest of the season.

Is it his fault that the players make mistakes and are nit brave enough on the ball. No. But he is not the most exciting manager.

However some fans have fail to realise that everton have quite often been the whipping boys for many teams since martinez second season.

Before sam came in time and time again under kieman and martinez we have been trounced by 3/4/5 goals. Thia is a rot that was here before sam came in and he came in to stop it and apart from spurs he has done that.

Koeman in charge we could be bottom now.

We need a boring manager to stop the rot and become the whipping boys of the league.

Some are embarrassmed to have sam in charge.

I am more concerned about stopping the whipping norm for EFC.
Brought in and getting highly paid to get a tune out the squad which he is failing to do. If players are been played that are not performing and stay in the team its his fault too. Forget about the other managers. We are not performing against the worse teams in the league, who's fault is that?

It's a combination of everything. The manager rightly takes a load of flak, but the players have to aswell. They have to.

Sam get's correctly blamed for a lot, the team selections, the alleged tactics, but if someone goes out onto the pitch after doing well all week for the manager but then seems to forget how to pass to his own team mates or how to tackle, that can't be his fault.

It's just a horrible mess.

Well said Eggs. His arrival brought a touch of stability to the club, not saying he is the world class manager to get us to CL but look at the players he has and how unbalanced our squad is. At the time when he signed up who else was there to take on the job. Time and again I have mentioned this but folk have not come up with anything. So it is at least to the summer so support the team, support the club and the manager, stop back biting.

So put your money where your mouth is, if all those players dropped who takes their place, never mind rhetoric give details.

He was never "the right man for the job" in an idealist sense.

Ultimately he was appointed from a position of panic and ineptitude - and that is the board's fault.

There was a shortlist of Marco Silva, and Marco Silva, after 5 weeks, and we couldn't get him.

I thought he was a pragmatic appointment, after an encouraging start things have regressed worringly, there is no denying that.

His approach to the Bournemouth game, and both games against WBA have left an awful lot to be desired but he did manage to get Palace and Sunderland on sustained good runs, after sorting out teething problems.

Lets hope it wasn't just a case of new manager bounce under him and we have had our good run already.

It has not been at all pretty since Christmas and even beforehand but there is no guarantee anyone could have come in and do better - and 12 games in is not a huge amount of games when we are dealing with problems that run deep and are entrenched with this squad.

Jesus christ, do people in here jack themselves off while their sniffing their own farts or what. There's more smugness in here then a vegan convention.

Did I want allerdyce in when we sacked koeman? No, I doubt anyone did. After unsworth we were in trouble and we can't go down. If we went down now it would screw this club for decades to come. We need this new stadium nothing can get in the way of that.

The club panicked and got allerdyce in. Some people tried to look on the bright side of it. Like me, I wanted him to prove all the critics wrong and do it at everton. I wasn't expecting us to be Barcelona but to be effective and defensively sound, challenge for 7th would of done me this season.

Other people hated him from the get go and didn't want him at the club and still don't. I can understand that, more so with every game tbh.

How much can we really blame on him though? We were conceding 2 goals a game under unsworth and we weren't far off that under koeman. We needed a defensive manager to sort out our back line and thats what we got. We want better but better was a risk in the eyes of the club unfortunately. The whole club is a mess and recruitment has been a shambles since martinez.

I believe that we are going to see some serious movments in the club hierarchy over the summer. I think walsh will be gone, so will allerdyce and there will be changes at board level.

Think there has to be for us to not only progress as a team but to survive.

He will not be poached by Barcelona.

But it was fantastic and phenomenal the way we played great possession football, and with success our our managers left, but ok, thats football!

However, we are trying to recover from selling off Lukaku, Barkley and Stones, arguably the best spine of a team we have had in recent years. Any team would struggle having that dismantled so quickly, and go figure we are struggling...

I didn't previously... but now that you suggested it...

Don't do it, it's not as nice as wolf makes it sound.

He has a similar record to unsworth, slightly worse actually
