...all the analysis and arguments only pander to the converted. Labour should have shifted Corbyn a long time ago, simply because he’s not popular. Labour party Governance is run by Momentum, it appeals to the few and not the many. I desperately want a Labour Government, but I shake my head when I see how it’s run.

The Austin interview will probably have more of a negative impact.

Generally agree with this, although I think Austin will be old news by the day after tomorrow and it won't make a real difference to the outcome.

If people were voting on just policies yet again Labour have the best to benefit the majority in this country.

I'd love a Labour government in but as I said at the last election, Corbyn is unelectable, too many voters don't trust him, and nothing has changed.

Don't get those policies without Corbyn, and other like minded candidate will and would receive exactly the same vitriol...

For Austin to advise folk to vote for a nutcase like Johnson rather spoils his grand exit.
It's not taken long for the muck to start flying, blimey.
I'll stick with the Stalinist I reckon. It's like supporting a team. You might not fancy the manager at times but you still follow them.

BBC.... “Labour voters should support Boris Johnson in the general election, former Labour MP Ian Austin has said.
The former minister, who resigned from the party in February, said Jeremy Corbyn was "completely unfit to lead our country".......

Former Labour MP, who never got over Ed Balls not being Labour leader, oh dear. Not very popular in Dudley either, behaves like a Tory, so no big deal.

I’m avoiding political debate or trying to Pete but I heard grieve yesterday saying that Johnson was manifestly unfit for high office . Im Guessing you don’t give that the same credence whilst others are the opposite .

Indeed.

I'm anti-Corbyn, but whilst I could advocate a vote for May in 2017, due to his extremism and incompetence I can't say a vote for Johnson is much more preferable to Corbyn.

It's irrational and just shows that Austin has essentially lost the plot.

He could have made his point a lot better - he could have said that despite being Labour to his core, he sees Corbyn as more dangerous than Johnson, which is a perfectly reasonable view to have. He could have said it while noting he wouldn't vote for either though, that's the key.
